Over the last two years, Gaijin Games have conducted one of the most intriguing experiments of this console generation by releasing the "BIT.TRIP" series. Six separate games that have all starred the same character, Commander Video, but played like entirely different games. Heavily inspired by retro classics, and scored with some of the best chiptunes ever created, Commander Video's entire voyage home has now been collected on one disc and re-released as "BIT.TRIP Complete" for the Wii.

But to make water the star of its own game? Unless you count "Wetrix," it's never really happened...until "Fluidity," that is.

For the last 19 months Wii owners have been treated to a series of titles the likes of which haven't been seen since sprites ruled video games. The "BIT.TRIP" series has help WiiWare keep its head up amongst long stretches of drought and shovelware by innovating and creating games that anyone, from the casual to the hardcore gamer, can play and enjoy. "BIT.TRIP FATE" is the latest entry into the series, and it keeps the traditions of its predecessors alive by creating an entirely new adventure for Commander Video.

Barring a "Uniracers" franchise relaunch out of left field, your best bet at grabbing a "racing adventure, delivering a unique, side-scrolling platform racer" on the Nintendo Wii looks like it's going to be a new title from the developers at RedLynx who made a name for themselves with "Trials HD" for Xbox Live Arcade.
