Sly Cooper Thieves In Time

Sanzaru Games may be a relatively new developer, having only been around for the last five years or so, but Sony has bestowed upon them a huge vote of confidence, entrusting them with one of their first party franchises, Sly Cooper. Thieves In Time is Sly's first outing in almost eight years, as well as his debut on the PlayStation 3 and Vita (not counting his appearances in PlayStation Move Heroes and PlayStation All-Stars Battle Royale). While most of the game remains true to its PlayStation 2 predecessors, this caper is going to send Sly and his friends through time to help restore order to the Cooper clan. We had a chance to ask Sanzaru Games' President Glen Egan some questions about the release, and got some insight into the development process of Sly's latest, and highly-anticipated heist, Thieves in Time.

Sony has announced their upcoming stealth/platformer Sly Cooper: Thieves in Time (That's Sly 4, for those keeping track) will be coming out for the PS Vita alongside its PS3 release later this year. The game is being developed by Sanzaru Games, who handled the HD conversion of the Sly Cooper Trilogy.

Incredibly, it's been over six years since we last saw the thieving raccoon that is Sly Cooper. Sucker Punch, the developer of the first three "Sly Cooper" games, have since moved on to their popular "inFamous" franchise, which has left a void for those hoping to take Sly out for another stealthy platformer spin. During Sony's E3 press conference this year, it was announced that the franchise would in fact get a fourth game in 2012. "Sly Cooper: Thieves in Time" is being developed by Sanzaru Games.

Sony has released a new trailer, showcasing the main protagonist of "Thieves in Time," an arrogant tiger who goes by the name of El Jefe. Check out the video after the jump.
