A couple months ago, Sony announced that they were investing $20 million dollars into exclusive titles for their PlayStation Network. The company's had a difficult time landing consistently popular, exclusive downloadable titles, but they're hoping to change all that by dropping some dollars in the direction of up-and-coming designers. Today, we're finally getting some more information about the first of three previously announced titles in this PlayStation "Pub Fund," ambient strategy game "Eufloria."

Natalya Netselya is an incredibly talented person. Where some artists work in the mediums of paint, clay, or charcoal, Netselya uses sand to create incredible pieces. She applies the sand by hand over a table that is lit from below, using her fingers to add seemingly impossible details. You can almost feel the movement of her subjects, as recognizable characters and settings emerge from the granules. While there are plenty of videos online featuring Netselya's work, today is the first time she applies her craft to videogames.

Resistance 3

In a first-person shooter, there's one thing that matters most: The gun in your hand.

You're staring at the damn thing for the vast majority of the game, and just about every objective requires that you use it in some way. You would think that, given the importance of the gun, every first-person shooter would make it their business to ensure that your gun is as good as it can be. But a surprisingly number of them fail miserably, leaving you with facile, impotent weapons that feel more like squirt guns than devices of war.

"Resistance 3" is not one of these first-person shooters. It happens to be home to the best weapons arsenal I've ever used in a first-person shooter, and it's a damn fun game because of it.

NOTE: This review is focused solely on the campaign portion of "Resistance 3." There is a significant multiplayer portion which was unplayable in natural settings before launch, so impressions on the multiplayer will come later this week.

God of War: Origins Collection

Despite really enjoying the "God of War" series, I'd gladly admit that I missed out on "God of War: Ghost of Sparta" when it released on PSP towards the end of last year. Chalk it up to a busy holiday season, mashed together with me not being terribly fond of Sony's handheld. So the news that the game would be re-released in high definition on the PS3 as "God Of War: Origins Collection" was welcome indeed. Better graphics, better platform, trophy support and, wouldn't you know, it's bundled with the first "God of War" PSP game, "Chains of Olympus," which has also received a visual update, all for $40. Sounds like a pretty good deal, right? Well it's not. It's a terrific deal.

Unboxing videos are – well, they're kinda goofy. Honestly, they're a rather banal activity almost entirely confined to geeky pursuits like videogame collector's editions and new gadgets – when's the last time you saw a cooking website unboxing a new set of pans? – and yet, videotaping the contents of a package somehow seem as popular as ever. If you're bored with watching publication editors and developers opening up their fancy boxes, though, Naughty Dog have kind of raised the unboxing bar, as it were.

After the jump, check out Nolan North – the voice of Nathan Drake – unboxing the "Uncharted 3" collector's edition.

PlayStation Home. I'm going to be completely honest here, and admit that I've barely played around with the PlayStation 3's social application. Now, I'm not denying it's great looking, or that it doesn't contain neat content related to PlayStation brand products – but I've personally never found it all that exciting. It's never really risen above a glorified chatroom, in my opinion, but hopefully Sony is going to change some of that with a new reboot.

Twisted Metal

"Twisted Metal" is one of the most anticipated PS3 games of the holiday season. Too bad it's not coming out in the holiday season anymore! The game was once scheduled for October 4, but the game has been delayed to early 2012, according to a posting on the official PlayStation blog by co-director David Jaffe. Guess what? This is a good thing.

Resistance 3

There are plenty of people who enjoyed "Resistance: Fall of Man." There are admittedly fewer who enjoyed "Resistance 2." But it's safe to say I am in neither of those groups. They're not bad games, mind you, but they never felt like anything much more than passable shooters. Shooters attempting to match the quality of games like "Halo" and "Call of Duty," but never quite making it.

So it was with trepidation that I began playing the first few levels of "Resistance 3" on a preview build Sony sent over. And guess what? I'm suddenly on board.

"Resistance 3" looms in the early portion of this fall's onslaught of game releases, and for fans of the franchise, you're probably getting anxious to play the game. There was a single-player demo released last month – if you purchased the "Battle Los Angeles" Blu-ray – but if you're excited to dive in to online multiplayer, Sony says your wait is almost over. Early access to the "Resistance 3" open beta begins on August 4.

Namco Bandai had a big surprise for "Tekken" fans during Comic-Con this weekend. I'm not talking about a little surprise here, either. In fact, I would say the company had a plethora of "Tekken" announcements on hand to please even the most battle-hardened fan of the iconic franchise. As it turns out, you're not only getting a PlayStation 3 bundle called "Tekken Hybrid," but you can also play "Tekken Bowl" on your iOS device for the finest price: free.
