metalgearrising

Konami might be doing a sequel to "Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance," but they need to ask you a few things first.

If you head over to the official Metal Gear Solid website, you'll find a link to the survey that asks a ton of questions about what you thought about the first MGR and what you'd like to see in a second one.

MGS

According to an article in GameReactor EU, mystery man, mad genius, and games industry svengali Hideo Kojima is currently looking for a third-party studio to remake the original "Metal Gear Solid" using his company's new Fox Engine. The revelation came as part of a roundtable discussion at E3, when a fan asked Kojima about potential remakes of "Metal Gear Solid" and "Metal Gears Solid 2: Sons of Liberty."

Sébastien Barkici-metal-gear-solid

Artist and designer Sébastien Barkici reduces franchises like "Final Fantasy," "Assassin's Creed," and "Metal Gear Solid" down to their barest visual components in this series of video game posters. While I think the "MGS" poster is the most striking, I have to say, I love how he pared down three corporate mascots--Mario, Sonic, and Pac-Man--down to their base colors. Clear, iconic, and recognizable (although I would have gone for a darker shade of blue for Sonic). The trick here is to evoke without cluttering the image with excessive detail (I'm a little lost on the "Final Fantasy" one--is it a crystal motif?).

After the jump, check out more of Barkici's deceptively simple work.

MGSL PS3 Beauty shot_sm v2

The seven-game collection is headed to the PS3 in July, according to an announcement this weekend from publisher Konami. Sure, a lot of these titles have already had solid re-releases in the (very) recent past--specifically "MGS 2," "3," and "Peace Walker"--but now they're being bundled together with 1998's "Metal Gear Solid" for the PSOne alongside a 100-page art book.

Konami's not going the delicious, velvet-lined opulence route for the franchise's 25th anniversary the way Capcom did, but this will be a nice way to get all of the current and previous generation "Metal Gear Solid" games in one place.

That sound you heard was a million red exclamation marks popping into existence over every Metal Gear fan.

So big, big news coming out of Konami's Metal Gear Solid 25th Anniversary event in Japan- a Hollywood adaptation of Metal Gear is on the way. The father of Snake and series creator, Hideo Kojima, along with Hollywood producer Avi Arad, announced a partnership between Columbia Pictures and Konami for a big screen release of the rabidly popular video game franchise.

You'll know Avi Arad as producing X-Men, Spider-Man 2, and bunch of other Marvel properties so it's a pretty safe bet that the Metal Gear movie will get the treatment it needs.
