Mad Catz wants to claw its way into your gamespace again, this time bringing with it a pro controller, new fight sticks, and a mouse that will make MMO players drool.
First up is the MLG Pro Circuit Controller, with "tournament grade components" that let you customize the entire look and feel of the controller. You can change the side, the thumbsticks, the d-pad and more, giving you a custom look and feel to what you bring to the game. Available for both the PS3 and the Xbox 360, it comes in a custom carrying case that also holds the additional parts. It's like bringing your own customized pool cue to the tournament and intimidating everyone. That is, if you play pool.
“The MLG Pro Circuit Controller with its tournament grade components and ProModule system has been very well received by the pro gaming community.” said Darren Richardson, the President and Chief Executive Officer of Mad Catz Interactive, Inc. “We anticipate the MLG Pro Circuit Controller will be the weapon of choice for the most demanding gamer and professional player.”

It looks like peripheral manufacturer Mad Catz is no longer content with just making hardware – they're now entering the game development side of the industry. The company has announced the formation of a San Diego-based game studio that will focus on developing a new flight simulation title for as-of-yet-unannounced platforms. Well, at least you know the controller will come properly calibrated for the game.

If you don't mind having a wire dangling down over your chest, there are plenty of options for online gamers who want to talk smack amongst their friends over a headset. In the wireless realm however, pickings are a whole lot slimmer. The Xbox 360's wireless functionality uses proprietary technology and Microsoft does not share it easily. Peripheral developer Mad Catz is now one of the lucky few however, as they're currently working on delivering a new wireless headset for use with the console.

Depending on how much you like "Call of Duty: Black Ops," a remote controlled spy car may not be enough to show off your your love to your friends, especially if your friends are people you mainly associate with during gaming experiences. If that's that case, Mad Catz has some new "Black Ops"-themed headsets for you to consider.

Less than a week after Microsoft released an update to their (expensive) wireless adapter, adding wireless N technology, Mad Catz is releasing their own Wireless-N Gaming Adapter for Xbox 360. Microsoft's device comes with a $99.99 MSRP, whereas Mad Catz comes in at $79.99.

For some reason, Microsoft didn't want to let anyone else make wireless controllers for the 360. It took serious cajoling from Activision and EA just to make wireless instruments a possibility. But now it appears that ol' MS is opening the floodgates, as they've just signed a multi-year agreement with Mad Catz, allowing them to produce a wide variety of wireless controllers.
Well, actually the deal is very specific. According to the press release, "Mad Catz has global rights to manufacture, market and sell Xbox 360-branded wireless specialty videogame controllers." This sounds like we won't be seeing any standard 360 controller wireless redesigns anytime soon.
We will, however, probably see a smattering of fight pads, joysticks and flight yokes. Great news, but I'd still love to see someone take a stab at redesigning the standard controller's d-pad. It's the one weakness in an otherwise excellent piece of hardware.
