Rhyme Player

Konami launched a new casual rhythm game on the iPhone's App Store today. Titled "RhymePlayer," it basically tasks players to tap the lyrics of songs in time with the music. Not exactly super involved, but it does feature a handful of well-known artists. Here's the full track list:

Lady Gaga - "Just Dance"
Lifehouse - "First Time"
Jackson 5 - "ABC"
Bel Biv DeVoe - "Poison" (Woo!)
The Cover Girls - "Show Me"

Konami passed along 3 codes for giveaway to promote the game, so head on over to the MTV Multiplayer twitter feed for a chance to nab one.

Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker

Though "Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker" should still make its May 25th release date in the U.S., the PSP game has been bumped from March 18th to April 29th in Japan. The announcement may ruffle feathers among Japanese gamers, but some of the most critical blogging targeted at the delay has come the game's director, Hideo Kojima.

Silent Hill Shattered Memories

The original "Silent Hill" is a bona fide classic. It isn't the first example of a survival horror game, but it's one of the best. And it spawned a series that still continues to today, right up to Konami's recently released "Silent Hill: Shattered Memories." A return to the first game's story, "Shattered Memories" allows players to relive the initial trip to that creepy town with new, Wii-powered visuals and a fresh approach to the gameplay.

Metal Gear Solid Peace Walker

Grand pappy Snake's next portable adventure, "Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker," is meant to be a full sequel to "Metal Gear Solid 3," with traditional "MGS"-style gameplay, unlike "Portable Ops." But don't take my word for it. Konami is releasing a demo for the game on PSN today, allowing folks to get a taste of the title on their PSPs before the release in 2010.

So yeah, go take a look. Just try to avoid those pesky time paradoxes.

Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker

Everyone's seen the cast members of Hideo Kojima's next "Metal Gear" game for the PSP, and now the street date for "Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker" is public information as well. Japan still gets the earliest chance to play on March 18th, and the UK gets it May 28th, but U.S. gamers will get a three-day head start on May 25th.

The "Metal Gear" series comes to Costa Rica and the PSP in Kojima Productions upcoming release "Metal Gear Solid Peace Walker," and the newly revealed characters sport names that should feel right at home in Central America -- or a Stanley Kubrick movie, depending on who you look at. "Castlevania the Adventure," Konami's 1989 Game Boy debut for their vampire hunter franchise, appears to be next in line for the company's ReBirth treatment. Konami knows which side its bread is buttered on. The Hideo Kojima side! Kojima Productions fourth project announced at Konami’s press conference is “Metal Gear Arcade”, a brand new cabinet amusement based on “Metal Gear Online”. The game is currently only set to release in Japan but Konami hopes to release the game worldwide.

The cabinets were only shown in an incredibly small picture, but Kojima said that they would be networked across the country and feature specialized controls to reproduce the “Metal Gear Online” experience. Not only that, but the cabinets will be equipped with specialized goggles because the game will be 3D. 3D like sci-fi movies in the 1950s, not like polygons. Neat!
