That purported city clue from the "Episodes from Liberty City" manual may be a red herring after all if recent comments by one of Rockstar's head honchos are to be believed. Though the existence of "Grand Theft Auto 5" as game in the early stages of development should surprise no one, followers of the series will be interested to know that Rockstar is still in the process of picking a city and characters for the next installment.

"The Ballad of Gay Tony," the second (and presumably final) DLC episode for "Grand Theft Auto 4" drops this week. The episode is available through Xbox Live Marketplace, or as part of a stand-alone retail disc, "Episodes From Liberty City," which also includes the content released in the last DLC pack, "The Lost and The Damned." Since the latter has been covered extensively, we'll be focusing on "The Ballad of Gay Tony" in this review.

Released for the Nintendo DS earlier this year, "Grand Theft Auto: Chinatown Wars" debuted on the PSP this week. The new version of "Chinatown Wars" offers much of the same experience as far as your ability to blow up, assassinate, terrorize and drug-hustle your way through Liberty City's underworld as its DS counterpart, with a variety of tweaks to the graphics and controls, as well as some extra missions exclusive to the PlayStation format.

Following up our hands-on preview from yesterday, Rockstar has released a video featuring the new weapons and vehicles that'll appear in "Grand Theft Auto: The Ballad of Gay Tony." Of special note is The Buzzard, a super maneuverable attack chopper, as well as an auto-shotgun with exploding rounds which can, according to Rockstar's fake news organization, "field dress a deer or a mouthy neighbor in one shot."

The next and (presumably) final piece of add-on content for "Grand Theft Auto 4" is coming at the end of October. "Grand Theft Auto: The Ballad of Gay Tony" gives players a widely different point of view on Liberty City, revealing the glitzy high life, as opposed to the grime of "GTA 4" and "The Lost and the Damned." The episode will be available as downloadable content over Xbox Live, or folks can buy "GTA: Episodes from Liberty City" as a disc, which includes the content from "The Ballad of Gay Tony" and "The Lost and the Damned" (but not the content from "Grand Theft Auto 4").

After surprisingly low sales for "GTA: Chinatown Wars" on the DS (for a "GTA" game, at least), Rockstar is trying again on the PSP, where they've had a lot of success with "Liberty City Stories" and "Vice City Stories."

"Grand Theft Auto: The Ballad of Gay Tony" and parachutes are only the beginning of Take-Two's plans for massive DLC rollouts, according to the company's Q3 2009 call with investors last night. CEO Ben Feder hammered home his intentions to make downloadable content a key component for all of the publisher's upcoming titles, and he wants to do it in as many different ways as possible.

Rockstar released the first trailer for "Grand Theft Auto: The Ballad of Gay Tony" today. A lot of gameplay aspects are hinted at in the trailer, including new helicopters (which can apparently lift trains!) and vehicles (golf cart for the win!).

But the biggest improvement is undoubtedly the re-inclusion of the parachute, allowing you to bail out of a helicopter and free fall before opening your chute and gliding safely to the ground.
