A week ago, Zynga announced that it was partnering up with pop-singer Lady Gaga to release a "FarmVille" spin-off of sorts, dubbed "GagaVille." The cross-promotional marketing move was sure to have plenty of Little Monsters excited for the chance to farm with their favorite singer, but the opportunity to gain early access to "Born This Way" tracks is what really has fans going Gaga. The game launches today, and runs through May 23.

FarmVille iPad

"FarmVille" fell under scrutiny along with other Facebook apps in a privacy breach investigation recently, but Zynga's flagship agriculture game has gone ahead and given its iPhone release some company in the App Store in the form of an iPad app. The crop-planting, Facebook-connecting app is now available and aims to make use of its new platform's touchscreen real estate.

Facebook games privacy breach

Some Facebook games may be doing a little more with their user relationships than users — or even Facebook — realized. A new Wall Street Journal report says the strictest privacy settings on the social network aren't enough when apps start reaching through loopholes and into browsers for identifying information about players and their social connections. Some of the most popular apps available on the network have been implicated in the report, including "FarmVille," "Texas HoldEm Poker" and "FrontierVille," though Facebook has said that will step up security measures in response.

Apple won't let just anyone share the stage with Steve Jobs, so when they let Zynga CEO Mark Pincus get up to talk at the Worldwide Developers Conference presentation where Jobs announced the iPhone 4 today, you knew something important had to be in store. Virtual goods on "FarmVille" have been raising money for the victims of January's earthquake in Haiti, as Zynga announce the latest version of their "Sweet Seeds for Haiti" program has already raised $110,000 for school construction in the troubled country.
