In light of the arrival of the "Scribblenauts" rooster hat, I got to thinking about all the nerdy stuff in my apartment, and just how much of it makes me a better man. The above "Fallout 3" statue was, admittedly, taken at my old job, and is therefore not really something I "own," but that was the idea.
Here's the stuff that you guys are most proud of on your nerd scale:

Despite the crap economy, seems like this holiday will be even more rife with special editions of video games. And, as publishers try to differentiate, they're getting more and more creative with what sorta stuff they're putting in there. Night vision goggles and rooster hats certainly spring to mind.
Anyway, what are some of your favorite special edition pack-ins from over the years?

What's the best part about going into space? Why it has to be the awesome weapons! The final planned DLC pack for "Fallout 3," "Mothership Zeta," comes packed with a wide variety of alien weapons with which to destroy extra-terrestrial invaders. But what are you hoping to see when you dig into the pack later today?
Well, apparently not too much, as today's LTP submissions were extremely paltry. For shame, people, for shame.

UPDATE: Bethesda's Pete Hines got back to us and clarified: "Zeta is the last one we are working on. Nothing else is planned or in the works right now."
ORIGINAL STORY: Bethesda released a new trailer today for "Fallout 3: Mothership Zeta," the alien-themed DLC pack. While the trailer looks pretty slick, it was the description of the trailer on Bethesda's official "Fallout 3" site that really jumped out at me:
"We've released the trailer to Fallout 3's final DLC, Mothership Zeta."

Today is National Tequila Day, in case you didn't know. On this day people of age take part in, well, getting hammered off tequila. But if you're not a fan of drinking or are too young to drink, don't let that stop you. Video games have offered numerous opportunities to get digitally smashed. Here are three of my favorites:
Leisure Suit Larry: Land of the Lounge Lizards
The classic game of sin, there are a lot of ways to mess yourself up in Leisure Suit Larry. Something you can do almost instantly is walk into Lefty's Bar and order a drink. And another. And another. Eventually you will stagger out of the bar and get killed a back alley! See, drinking is a blast!
Fallout 3
"Fallout" may be the only series that tries to replicate the consequences of alcoholism. Drinking booze in the "Fallout" universe may dull some of your pain, but you'll pay for it in the end with a hefty stat decrease. In "Fallout 3" the screen will actually blur and tip when you've had a few too many.
Grand Theft Auto 4
"GTA 4" was arguably the most realistic portrayal of getting hammered in real life. If you've ever gotten to the point where you're tripping over a six-inch curb and yelling at cabs like they owe you money, you'll probably feel right at home with the "date" minigames in "GTA 4." The game also portrays drunk driving, which is possible but comes with the consequences of instant cop attention and a distinct inability to stay on the road. So, for god sake people, take a taxi.
I know there have been a ton of drunken moments games over the years. What are your favorites?
Speaking with Jeff Gardiner, who has been at the helm of the "Fallout 3" DLC content, I was curious what sort of weapons we'd be seeing in Mothership Zeta, the upcoming alien-centric expansion. Thankfully it looks like there is plenty to keep our trigger fingers humming:
"Mothership Zeta is full of the most high tech weaponry in the game. It includes a Shock Baton for melee fighters, multiple new firearms including an Alien Atomizer, a pistol, and the Alien Disintegrator, a new rifle. There's also a new grenade type, a Cryo Grenade, which freezes enemies for a short period of time. On top of that there are new unique weapons, and a new heavy weapon."

In an email interview with Jeff Gardiner regarding August 3rd's release of the next "Fallout 3" DLC, "Mothership Zeta," I asked if it would even be possible to increase the level cap from its current 30 (as set by "Broken Steel.") Specifically, if the stat caps were boosted beyond 10 and skill caps were boosted beyond 100, would the game system simply break?
Clearly it's not the first time Gardiner has had the question, but his reaction was a bit more focused:

I finished "Fallout 3" last night. Well, I got all the achievements, at least. Yep, all 1450 points, which includes the main game's achievements and the add-on packs. It was sort of a proud, if ridiculous moment, considering achievements are meaningless, but you all probably know the feeling I'm talking about. So I posed the question to the followers of the MTV Multiplayer Twitter feed, what is your proudest achievement (or trophy)? Thanks to everyone who responded, here are some selections!
@dave_haas - Getting to level 50 in Puzzle Quest. I think I threw my fist into the air even though I was by myself.
@zackjewell - clearing the epilogue of CoD4 in under a minute. 3 broken controllers and a hole in the wall.
@feitclub - must it be 360? My proudest one (2 actually): opening all seeds on Garden 10 in PJ Eden & finding all Spectra. Exhaustive.
@GameCouch - Endless Setlist! [Ed note: 84 songs, in "Rock Band 2" with no stopping. Insane.]
Once again, thanks to everyone that participated. Lunchtime Twitter Poll will be suspended tomorrow for the US holiday, but participate on Monday and be a Twitter celebrity for a day! Woo!
I'm sitting on the 29th floor of MTV's offices in Times Square, watching the city get absolutely pounded by rain, which one thing: I'll be playing a lot of video games this weekend! Here's what's on the docket.
Prototype
About half way done with this one, and I think I can finish off the rest this weekend. While it's not without some quirks, specifically on the controls front, the scale definitely feels bigger than Infamous, and I do enjoy causing havoc in my home town.
Fallout 3: Point Lookout
Still digging deep into Bethesda's newest DLC pack, trying to find all of the locations and unlock that elusive achievement. Strange how walking around a post-apocalyptic wasteland doesn't bum me out in the least. Maybe the giant tesla cannon on my back has something to do with it.
Worms
"Worms 2: Armageddon" is dropping next week, so it's probably a good time to brush up on my grenade-tossing skills.
That should fill the weekend nicely...how 'bout you guys?
Bethesda has long led the charge on DLC, starting with "Oblivion" and now "Fallout 3." With "Fallout 3," they've tweaked and prodded each release, trying something new and introducing interesting corners of the world to explore. It seems, too, that they're getting better at it, as the latest DLC, "Point Lookout," is the best yet.
The Highs
