Deus Ex

It's now two weeks after I finished "Deus Ex: Human Revolution" for the first time, and the game remains one of the most enjoyable titles of 2011. If you haven't had the chance to delve into Eidos Montreal's massive RPG shooter, you owe it to yourself to do so before the holiday season really gets packed.

As for those who have played through the game, it seems Eidos is not quite done with you. The company has been hinting at new DLC for the title with an ARG and today they made it official. A new DLC pack, "The Missing Link," is scheduled for release in October.

A big part of "Deus Ex: Human Revolution" is hacking through computer systems, extruding information and shutting down security systems. So, if Eidos Montreal were to release some new content, whatever that may be, wouldn't it be cool if the entire process turned into a bit of a game, offering up codes for fans to decipher. Well, that's precisely what they've done, and looks like we could hear about "Human Revolution" downloadable-content soon.

Deus Ex

OnLive and Square Enix made a surprise announcement yesterday, saying that new, retail copies of "Deus Ex: Human Revolution" on PC would include a voucher which would allow players to enjoy the game through the OnLive service without having to pay for another copy. Basically, you could buy one copy and choose to install it normally, or, if your PC doesn't have enough gaming muscle, you could choose to stream it through OnLive at no extra cost. Pretty nice, huh? GameStop doesn't think so. Multiple reports are now saying that Gamestop executives are asking that employees open new copies of "Deus Ex" on PC and remove the OnLive voucher.

Deus Ex

Yesterday I reviewed "Deus Ex: Human Revolution." You can read that review if you want, but, long story short, the game's really damn good and you should pick it up. One of the unique features of "DXHR" is that you can play through the entire game without killing anyone (save for the bosses, who totally deserve to die anyway). If you actually manage to make it to the end of the game without killing anyone, you'll be rewarded with the Pacifist achievement/trophy, a true accomplishment.

Because I'm a crazy person, I decided to go for this achievement on my first time through the whole game. And I succeeded! Now I'm here to share with you some pointers on how you too can succeed in the ways of non-lethality. This guide won't have any spoilers, but it will have tips on which augmentations to pick up and which weapons you should have in your inventory.

Note: You'll still get all the story elements from playing through the game non-lethally, but if stealth isn't your usual style, I'd suggest playing through the game once however you want. Stealthy players should feel right at home playing non-lethally, though.

Reviews of "Deus Ex: Human Revolution" are pouring in and, well, they're pretty darn positive. Our own review definitely found the game pleasurable, and though it's a bit too early to say for sure, Adam Jensen looks like he could be the star of a smash hit. Well, assuming you all go out and actually buy the game tomorrow. If the game's main protagonist does end up as a rather iconic figure, you can bet you'll see Jensen making appearances in the form of cosplay in future conventions.

Well, but what if you're not a cosplayer? What if you just want to rock some sweet "Deus Ex" fashions, but don't feel like gluing plastic eyepieces to your face? Luckily, clothier musterbrand is bringing some of the style from the game into the real world.

Deus Ex: Human Revolution

Imagine taking a beloved RPG franchise that hasn't been around for nearly 10 years and reviving it with an entirely different studio and team. Seems like it'd be a recipe for disaster, huh? And yet, look at "Fallout 3." It was released 10 years after "Fallout 2," developed by fans of the franchise and, bang, game of the year contender. And, wouldn't you know it, the same exact thing has happened with "Deus Ex: Human Revolution," a game which brings back all the elements people loved about the original "Deus Ex" with the addition of modern sensibilities and an actually-comprehensible story.

Everyone's favorite she-Indy had a great 2010 thanks to "Lara Croft and the Guardian of Light," which turned the "Tomb Raider" franchise on its head by adding dual-stick shooter controls the the combat-and-puzzle-focused adventure. The downloadable game was developed by a small team at Crystal Dynamics, the developer behind the Legend/Anniversary/Underworld trilogy.

Meanwhile, another team at Crystal D has been laboring over Lara Croft's next disc-based adventure. Titled simply "Tomb Raider," the story turns back the clock to a 21-year-old Croft's first outing as a derring-do treasure hunter. We know it's an open world game set on an island near Japan, and that new areas of the island will unlock as Lara finds new equipment and learns addition skills (think: "Zelda," "Metroid"), but that's about all.

Deus Ex Human Revolution Augmented Edition

Square Enix has been letting trailers and tidbits trickle out for most of the last year in anticipation of "Deus Ex: Human Revolution," which will be immediately welcomed by heaps of critical pressure when it finally arrives. It will however also be accompanied by a special "Augmented Edition" for buyers willing to lay down an extra $10 and an extra mission pack for those pre-ordering at GameStop.

Hitman 5

"Hitman 5" came up more than a year ago in reference to source material for a movie sequel in a Variety story. At the time it sounded like we might see a new game in 2010, but it's probably safe to assume that that's off the table now. Still, actor David Bateson, who's provided Agent 47's voice in the past, seems to know something about a new installment, even if IO Interactive admits to nothing.
