"Angry Birds" grabbed some attention and ton of downloads when it launched for free on Android phones a few days ago. EA Mobile claims to have had iPhones and iPads in mind, however, when Electronic Arts finalized a deal to buy the game's publisher Chillingo. Rumors began circulating ahead of EA's official confirmation that a deal took place, but a representative acknowledged that the acquisition has been made.

Since EA launched "Battlefield: Bad Company 2" on consoles and PC, they've bolstered the the experience with a new mode and free map promises. They want the game to spill off of your stationary devices and go mobile with your iPhones and iPod touches as well, though, and an App Store game will see that vision through.

"Rock Band" will come to the iPhone, and EA wants it there by the end of October. After teasing its release yesterday, EA Mobile posted a complete track list and gameplay details this afternoon, along with The Beastie Boys, AFI, Blink-182 and Pixies songs. Including guitar, bass, drums and vocals parts, the App Store release will use the iPhone and iPod touch's Bluetooth capability for up to four-member multiplayer sessions.
