The Guild creator Felicia Day puts on the elf ears in this trailer for the six-part Dragon Age web series.

Dark fantasy RPG fans, check out this trailer for the upcoming web series, Dragon Age: Redemption, which ties into Bioware's console/PC release, Dragon Age 2. Day stars alongside Doug Jones (Hellboy, Pan's Labyrinth, John Dies at the End) in this side story tied into the upcoming "Mark of the Assassin" DLC which launches next week on the PC, XBLA, and PSN. Day's character in Redemption, the Elf assassin, Tallis, joins the game's protagonist Hawke in a quest to steal a precious relic. Day, of course, reprises her role as Tallis for the game.

Early in June, a funny thing happened. "Crysis 2," published by EA, suddenly disappeared from the Steam store. There was no explanation as to why the game had mysteriously vanished, and the only explanation came from an intentionally vague comment from EA, stating that Valve had booted the game from the service. This week, if you're a "Dragon Age 2" – also published by EA – fan, there's a chance you're looking forward to the new "Legacy" downloadable-content.

Well, bad news: now "Dragon Age 2" has vanished from Steam, as well.

In BioWare's 2009 release "Dragon Age: Origins," players guided the last remaining Grey Warden on an epic quest to save the world from a horrible death by Darkspawn, slavering netherbeings that hate joy with their whole, black hearts. "Dragon Age 2" is out this week and it scales back the epic scope considerably, but nonetheless improves on the first game's great RPG/action-esque formula with a quicker pace and a brand-new rogue's gallery of beasties and bad guys to put out of your misery.

Earlier this week it was announced that "The Guild" creator/writer/star Felicia Day had written a "Dragon Age 2" spinoff web series for herself to star in, with BioWare's blessing. Today brings a teaser trailer for the six-episode tale, "Dragon Age: Redemption," along with the revelation of a summer release timeframe. Check out the trailer after the jump.

Last week we reported that Electronic Arts was offering a special pre-order bonus for "Dragon Age 2": Get your order in before January 12 and you'd get a free download code for "The Exiled Prince" DLC, which will also be available at launch for $7. The deadline for that offer is passed as of today, but fortunately you've got some other options if you're looking to get some free stuff along with your purchase.

If you're willing to commit now to buying "Dragon Age 2" by way of a pre-order, you're going to get quite the nice hookup in the form of DLC at launch.

Those who place a pre-order for the game before January 12 will be put down for a copy of the "Dragon Age 2" Signature Edition. This is a special pre-order-only version of the game is only available for those who put some money down prior to 1/12. As a new trailer reveals, the Signature Edition gives players "The Exiled Prince" DLC as a free download, which includes an extra party member and his associated quest. This is not so different from the free DLC that accompanied the original "Dragon Age" release.

Dragon Age 2 BioWare Signature Edition

Back in August, BioWare presented the world with trailer and a March 2011 release dates for "Dragon Age 2," and this week they decided to start prodding you for your pre-orders. Luckily for those who planned on purchasing the sequel, that prodding didn't come with any extra costs; instead, the company has announced that pre-orders received by January 11 will be upgraded to a BioWare Signature Edition package that comes with an extra playable character, new missions, a digital copy of the "DA2" soundtrack and a special in-game armory with additional items.

Dragon Age 2

"Dragon Age 2" won't quite make it out for a release date in February 2011, but the good news is that it is now officially expected to launch in North America on March 8 and in Europe on March 11. A new trailer also debuted with the calendar commitment, and you can find it embedded after the jump.

Dragon Age 2

And you thought BioWare was just pulling your leg about the whole "Origins" subhead for "Dragon Age." Nope, it seems that the RPG aficionados are returning to the lands of demon blight with the aptly named "Dragon Age 2," and it may be less than a year away from release!

The game was first revealed as next month's issue of GameInformer. Since then a handy official site has popped up with some details and artwork from the sequel.
