Resident Evil Darkside Chronicles

"Resident Evil: The Umbrella Chronicles" was a little too ambitious...and not very good. For a glorified light gun game it had overly complex controls and wasn't, well, very much fun. But Capcom has returned to give it another game with "Resident Evil: The Darkside Chronicles." Does it remedy mistakes of the past or are we left with another so-so title to fill in the time between true sequels?

Dark Void

If Capcom's "Dark Void" becomes a hit when it comes out in 2010, Brad Pitt's production company Plan B Entertainment will already be ahead of the game, as they've announced they now have the rights to make a film based on the unreleased title.

Resident Evil 5

Capcom reached a crossroads with the U.S. market after announcing the newly packaged "Resident Evil 5: Alternative Edition" for Japan. The revamped version of the game, which includes new content and features, could either come to North America as new edition of the game or in the form of a download that may have prompted early buyers to flood the secondary market with their used "RE5" discs. After conducting an online poll, however, Capcom has opted to go with DLC.

Super Street Fighter 4

Anyone sentimental for the old "World Warrior" days of between-match mini-games demolishing cars may want to give "Super Street Fighter 4" a second glance. Some scans covered in Japanese from Famitsu appear to reveal the past time's return to Capcom's franchise with next year's release.

Monster Hunter Tri

The "Monster Hunter" franchise's reach has always been limited in the United States. The series is a Pokémon-level phenomenon in its native Japan, but has only recently been upgraded from "obscure curio" to "cult hit" on this side of the Pacific. The real barrier between "MoHun" and Western success has been its lack of online play. Though every "Monster Hunter" can be played solo, it's impossible to access the game's best bits without other human players. Hardcore, grind-intensive, multiplayer action RPGs plain need an online option to find an audience in the United States.

Call of Duty Callsigns

At the top, an icon and title which represents your online persona in "Street Fighter 4." At the bottom, the callsign which represents your online persona in "Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2." If you think they're pretty similar then you're probably not blind. Granted "Modern Warfare 2" does offer up a healthy number of other ways to customize your character, but in terms of what your foes see when they fight you, the callsign is your primary representation.

At an event in New York City today, I spoke with Seth Killian, Capcom's Community Manager, about the similarities.

Super Street Fighter 4

Looking to get an early jump on your T. Hawk skills? Capcom is reviving their secret Fight Clubs in honor of "Super Street Fighter 4." As usual the address is super secret, but you can email Capcom and try to score an invite. "Super Street Fighter 4" will probably be the star of the show (with T. Hawk, Dee Jay and Juri as playable characters), but don't forget "Tatsonoko vs. Capcom," which will also have new playable characters like Zero and Joe the Condor.

Super Street Fighter 4

Now that "Super Street Fighter 4" is officially an independent release, GameStop appears to have clarified the game's price and shipping date, which represents an ultra-quick follow-up on the calendar compared to this year's implicitly less super "Street Fighter 4." The disc comes tagged with a $39.99 price point for the Xbox 360 or PlayStation 3, matching the current MSRP for its predecessor, and the retailer's site claims it will ship on March 23, 2010.

Wentworth Miller, the star of "Prison Break," will have to get himself out of another jam in the next "Resident Evil" sequel. Miller will pick up the role of Chris Redfield, Claire's brother from the Capcom games. "Resident Evil: Afterlife," the fourth installment of the film series, brings back lead actress Milla Jovovich, as well as Ali Larter and Spencer Locke from "Resident Evil: Extinction."
