We recently sat down with Tomo Miličević and Jared Leto of 30 Seconds to Mars to talk about their collaboration with EA and BioWare for "Dragon Age: Origins." Specifically their song, "This Is War," made its debut within the game. Check out the clip up top.

EA is continuing its long and difficult campaign of convincing people that "Dragon Age: Origins" is not quite as nerdy as it appears. Today's featured attempt? Bringing 30 Seconds To Mars into the mix. The band contributed one of their new singles, "This Is War," for use in the game. The song is the title track from their upcoming album which drops on December 8th.

Jared Leto, the band's front-man, provided this canned, somewhat antiseptic statement:

Dragon Age: Origins

In a place ruled by magic and feudal lords, an ancient evil stirs every few hundred years to cast a Blight across the land. The continued survival of these people is ensured by a small group of heroic individuals, warriors of peace charged with uniting the disparate factions into a single force capable of repelling the forces of the underworld. Is it Dungeons & Dragons? The Lord of the Rings? No. The land is called Ferelden, its peacekeepers are the Grey Wardens and the creator of it all is BioWare. Welcome to "Dragon Age: Origins."

Dragon Age

Kate Mulgrew, best known for her role as Captain Janeway on "Star Trek Voyager," is also a veteran voice actor, providing work on a number of cartoons and video games. Her latest gig places her in the role of Flemeth, a powerful witch in the universe of "Dragon Age: Origins." I spoke with her over the phone a little while ago, and with the game dropping tomorrow I thought now would be a perfect time to share some of her thoughts on the role.

So a box featuring the "Dragon Age: Origins" seal arrived today. Within it was a dram of something or other and a threatening note. So I did what any normal person would do. I drank the vial and went about my day. You can enjoy this experience in video form above.

Funny story, though. The box also had a review copy of the game, but I didn't actually realize this fact until the box was in the trash. Thankfully Libe Goad and Stephen Totilo were quick to inform me of its inclusion before the friendly neighborhood garbage person came 'round and disposed of it. In my defense it was under all the hay, in well-camouflaged wrapping paper, but it did make me feel like a bit of an idiot nonetheless.

Mass Effect 2

Rumors of non-exclusivity erupted after EA's Russian website posted listings for PlayStation 3 copies of "Left 4 Dead 2" and "Mass Effect 2," but EA has now crushed those hopes like so many recyclable cans, so expect to see them sticking to the Xbox 360 in the console marketplace. Apparently, someone in Europe just made a mistake somewhere along the line, and the titles will remain tied to the 360 and PC.

Mass Effect 2

BioWare wants "Mass Effect 2" to be both darker and harder than its predecessor, and the studio's co-founder Greg Zeschuk wants one classic space opera to be the benchmark for its continuing story. "Star Wars" traded the sandy, sunset-glazed atmosphere of Tatooine for the barren snow of Hoth and the blackness of space in "The Empire Strikes Back." Zeschuk wants to reflect the same sea change in the second "Mass Effect."

EA's doors and online cash registers are now open for business to anyone interested in squeezing two or three more hours out of "Mass Effect." The minimally publicized DLC titled "Pinnacle Station" went live yesterday for PC and Xbox 360, and priced at the $5 mark, it won't break the bank. But it may have broken something temporarily in the game-worlds of users who rushed to install it.

If you're a huge fan of Jar Jar, the Ewoks or Jake Lloyd, you probably shouldn't watch the video below. On the other hand, if you enjoy watching dozens of Sith lords battle a hot, female bounty hunter in Mandalorian armor while a giant star ship crashes into the Jedi Temple, well yeah, maybe this one is for you.

"Star Wars: The Old Republic" is the very first MMO from BioWare, the guys who brought the awesome back to Star Wars with "The Knights of the Old Republic." This new trailer definitely emphasizes the dark world that existed 3,500 years before "Episode 1," in a time when the Sith and the Jedi were numerous and really unpleasant to one another.

We'll be getting a closer look at the gameplay from "The Old Republic" during E3, so be sure to check back later in the week for updated impressions.
