Hot off the heels of the wildly successful PAX East, PAX Prime's registration site officially opened. Registration itself was only open for a brief time, however, as the site encountered technical difficulties. Penny Arcade's Robert Khoo assures us that registration "should reopen next week."
We'd highly recommend registering ASAP as passes tend to sell out fast. Last year three day passes sold out the first week of May, and all passes were sold by May 31st, despite the show not being until Aug 26 and conference organizers gaining clearance to allow 10% more badges. Yikes! Hope you've been saving up. I mean, you can go without food for a week, right?
PAX Prime 2012 is set for Aug 31st - Sept 2nd in Seattle, WA.

Hothead Games and Fuse Powered are bringing recreational narcotics enthusiast and tiger fancier Tony Montana to iOS with Scarface. The iOS release, which launches today, is an action adventure game with a healthy does of resource management. You'll be stepping into Tony's shoes from a lowly cook all the way up to the number one target for the feds and rival drug dealers.
To get a better sense of what Fuse and Hothead were up to with Scarface, we spoke to Fuse CEO John Walsh recently by e-mail. Here's what he had to say about getting the Scarface experience just right for the iPad, getting the game to feel and sound authentically like the crime classic, and making sure the whole thing controls just right.

Making the jump from flash game to console game is a move that is usually reserved for only the best of the best. The latest flash distraction to graduate to retail is Shifting World, the newest entry into the Shift series, games that have been around on flash, iOS, and PSN platforms since 2008. Originally developed by Antony Lavelle and published by Armor Games, Aksys Games is helping to bring the updated Shifting World to store shelves.

There's a lot of reasons to love the Mass Effect series. It's got an extremely well-realized universe, rich characters, mesmerizing art direction, a fantastic score, and deals with some pretty heavy political issues like genocide and colonization. Plus, there are nifty space battles and giant sand worms. That's pretty cool, right?
But there's always been one glaring design issue that's severely dampened my enjoyment of these games; their cut and dry morality.

I’m not really sure where to begin with Bethesda published, Arkane Studio’s new game ‘Dishonored’ and I must admit I came into the preview pretty cold without much knowledge of what to expect. I just knew that is was a first person melee game with magic powers. If you watched the debut video, you may have just dismissed this as a BioShock set in an industrial-age, steampunk dystopia featuring mystical elements, and I really wouldn’t say you’re wrong. However, I find it pretty lazy when something is described as ‘x but with y’. So, I aim to tell you why you should put away any assumptions and keep a keen eye out for this game.
