The continued, escalating battle of Collector's Edition superiority continues, this time with Ubisoft offering a remote-controlled plane replica of the Paladin, a key location in "Splinter Cell: Blacklist." While a pair of night vision goggles would have been more appropriate (although it's been done before, I know), it's still a pretty cool bonus.

"The Infamy," first installment the three-part story, hits all platforms in a little under a month, giving us a chance to see exactly how a ticked-off Assassin would deal with an evil American monarch.
Even before the tumult of the THQ fire sale, it looked like "South Park: The Stick of Truth" needed more time to cook at developer Obsidian, after slipping two release dates (most recently from March 5 to sometime in fiscal year 2014). Now comes word from new publisher Ubisoft (in an interview with the Canadian Financial Post) that some of their internal studios will be taking a look at the RPG based on the long-running animated series before it ever sees the light of day.
Here's some of the most recent developments in the wake of the THQ sale.
Kotaku's Jason Schreier was able to acquire a letter to employees from THQ President Jason Rubin and CEO Brian Farrell announcing the final status of the assets sales which took place yesterday. Several whole studios have been purchased outright. While the U.S. Bankruptcy Court still has to sign off on THQ's final assessment, it looks like Relic, Volition, THQ's Montreal studio, along with the "Metro," "Evolve," and "Homefront" franchises have all found new homes. Right now, the future of Vigil ("Darksiders") remains in doubt as it's still wrapped up in the Chapter 11 proceedings.

Wow, has it really been a month since "Far Cry 3" was released? Back in December, Ubisoft announced that the tropical open world shooter would be getting PS3-exclusive DLC, and on January 15th, you PlayStation 3 gamers can check it out as "High Tide" hits PSN.
The DLC features two chapters, Jailbreak and Redemption, and according to this PlayStation blog post, the two parts are described as continuation of the six chapters in the current co-op and "the gang's final moments."
That doesn't sound ominous, right? "High Tides" will be available for free on PSN on January 15th.
