After showing off three covers adorned with NBA legends a couple weeks ago, 2K Sports has announced that "NBA 2K12" will also give you the opportunity to play relive some classic moments on the hardwood with the game's greatest players. The just revealed "NBA's Greatest" mode will not only feature Larry Bird, Michael Jordan, and Magic Johnson; there's also 15 historic teams -- with icons like Kareem Abdul-Jabbar and "Dr. J" Erving -- available, as well.

Zelda

At this year's E3, Nintendo announced plans for a concert series to celebrate the 25th anniversary of "The Legend of Zelda." At the time they didn't have any concrete details to share, though they did give a sampling of what to expect in the form of a live orchestra during their press conference. The company sent along word today regarding scheduling and pricing details, and it's good news for those in Los Angeles, as it seems they're getting dibs.

Zelda Skyward Sword

Comic-Con, it's not just for comics anymore! What? You say it hasn't just been for comics for like a decade now? Ah, well, consider this a reaffirmation of it not being just for comics. Case in point: Nintendo is bringing a full slate of 2011 releases for the masses to enjoy. Granted, some of them are already out, but others, like "Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword" and "Super Mario 3DS" will undoubtedly please Con-goers.

Kirby Wii

The temporary title, "Kirby Wii" might imply otherwise, but this is not Kirby's first go-around on Nintendo's latest console. Last year saw the release of "Kirby's Epic Yarn" for Wii, which featured the famous pink puffball. But, despite being a rather enjoyable game, it wasn't a Kirby game in the truest sense. After all, how could you have Kirby game that doesn't allow you to suck up enemies and steal their powers? That's a Kirby staple! This oversight has been remedied with "Kirby Wii," a game that feels like a revamped take on the original "Kirby's Adventure."

Last week, we told you about the nominees for 2011's Game Critics Awards. Each year, 35 North American gaming media outlets select their favorite titles, across 17 categories, from the games available for hands-on preview at E3. Well, the results have just come in, and "BioShock Infinite" has walked away with the "Best of Show" award. Every year, judges from a wide variety of gaming media – including our own editor-in-chief, Russ Frushtick – vote on what they feel are the standout games on display at the Electronic Entertainment Expo. Before those final votes are cast, however, the group releases their list of nominees. That list of hopefuls just went up, and though there aren't many surprises among the 17 different categories, it does serve as a nice snapshot of the industry's biggest upcoming games.

Super Meat Boy

The development of "Super Meat Boy," the massively successful indie platformer, stretched for a solid 18 months. Nintendo E3 Press Conference

When it comes to the business of video games, few things remain secret for very long. But, even though he know a bunch of tidbits about Nintendo's next console, the follow-up to the Wii, it's still surprisingly shrouded in mystery, even though it'll be announced in earnest at 9AM PST today. Yes, all is likely to be revealed. Well, maybe not all. It's still too early for price and an exact release date (expect holiday 2012), but we'll definitely be seeing and, more importantly, playing the device in just a couple hours, which should answer a lot of questions.

For example, what's the deal with this touch screen controller everyone's talking about? And are we finally getting an HD console from Nintendo? And do they actually have an online solution that works? We should know the answers to all these questions and, hopefully, get the actual name of the console when Nintendo's press conference kicks off at 9AM PST today.

If you'd like to follow along with the action, you can watch the live stream here. We'll try to fill you in on the highlights as they happen, but press conference WiFi and cell service is notoriously spotty, so fair warning if we go a little dark. My hands-on session with the device is scheduled for immediately after the press conference, so stay tuned. Lots of exciting info is coming at you in just a matter of hours!

Madden NFL 12

Despite the increasingly worrying chances that there may be a shortened or non-existent football season this year, EA Sports is, of course, still plowing ahead with a new "Madden" game. For those of you who don't purchase each annual installment on blind faith and/or a desire for updated rosters, you should know that there are some gameplay additions to "Madden NFL 12." The biggest one by far is something called Dynamic Player Performance.
