Fans of legendary rock guitarist Slash are able to play against him and as him in "Guitar Hero III: Legends of Rock." But now they'll really be able to own him -- in toy form, that is.
Today, McFarlane Toys announced exclusively to MTV Multiplayer that the company is making a Slash action figure based on his in-game character from "Guitar Hero III." At six inches in height, the nimble figure has more than 15 moving parts, a removable guitar and a sculpted base -- for flexible shredding, of course.
He'll join the other previously announced "Guitar Hero" action figures that include characters Johnny Napalm, Lars Ümlaut, God of Rock and Axel Steel, all due in November. The figures' prices should range between $10 and $15 at various retailers. Expect Slash in stores in February 2009.

Video games have a large presence than ever before at Comic Con 2008, but I didn't expect to learn more (if only a little) about Square Enix's largest in-development RPGs. Yet, the publisher unveiled to wandering fans figures for "Final Fantasy XIII," "Star Ocean," and "The Last Remnant" to be sold later this year and beyond.

Not only is the McFarlane Toy company making "Guitar Hero" action figures for the fall. They've got "Call of Duty: World At War" figures coming for the fall as well, timed to the release of the Treyarch-developed WWII Pacific Theater game. The company wil debut four figures today and have given us an early look at one of them.
According to the press release, the full set of "highly detailed" and"game-accurate" $10-15 figures will consist of:
-Marine Infantry, Battle of Peleliu - Includes M1 Garand rifle and M1 bayonet
-Marine Corps with Flamethrower, Battle of Peleliu - Includes M2-2 flamethrower with removable flame, and M1911A1 pistol & holster
-Marine Corps with Machine Gun, Battle of Okinawa - Includes M-1928A1 machine gun w/20 round magazine and M1911A1 pistol & holster
-British Special Ops, Battle for the Roer Triangle - Includes Mark II Sten gun
More info will be forthcoming at Spawn.com. First "Guitar Hero" and now "CoD"... any votes for other Activision series the McFarlane company should also turn into toys?
After the jump, check out a full shot of the British Special Ops.

I expected "Halo" action figures. I did not expect "Guitar Hero" ones. But McFarlane Toys wasn't content to just produce figures from Master Chief's world.
Instead, today the company is announcing a fall line of 'Guitar Hero" action figures. Each will have 15-18 moving parts and cost $10-15. The line includes Axel Steel, Johnny Napalm, Lars Umlaut and God of Rock.
We got the first image of Axel Steel's figure (the other three have been released to other websites, I was told). See all of the Axel figure after the jump.
