I got a boxed copy of "Halo Wars" yesterday, have four review builds of "Street Fighter IV" on my desk, a copy of "Henry Hatsworth in the Puzzling Adventure" in my bag, a password to download a review version of "Flower" ... and I didn't have a minute to play any of it. That ain't right!

I drove back into "Burnout Paradise" last night, but refused to try one of the game's new features. Read more...

No matter how hard I try to play a game perfectly, there's almost always a moment when I decide that life's too short. I allow sloppiness to seep in. Read more...

Just a quick Diary note as I get ready to scramble to a Sony three-part demo ("Infamous," "Uncharted 2," "Resistance Retribution") and then to Comic-Con for my panel... wondering if I'm the only fool who carries consoles around at least a couple of times a month. I bring my PS3 or Wii to work and back and then get myself in situations like last night when my PS3 was home but its power cable was at the office. And to think I wanted to play the expanded PS3 version of "Burnout Paradise" this weekend but wasn't going to go back into the office. I need two sets of wires, at least.

Everyone shoots at me in "Far Cry 2." That shouldn't feel unusual, but it does. I'm not sure if I should complain. Read more...

I'm wondering if games should list estimated playing times on their boxes. DVDs show their run-times. iTunes lists how long each podcast on my iPod lasts. And I can flip to the end of a book and see how many pages it is. How do I determine how long my unplayed games are? Read more...

With "Fallout 3" completed and "Killzone 2" done for now, I'm back to "Far Cry 2." What a lovely, unhurried first-person shooter it is. But, yes, after playing 10 hours of "Killzone 2" in first-person using that game's ability to take cover, I do find it odd that I can't snap to cover in first-person or thrid-person in "Far Cry 2." But, hey, "Killzone 2" doesn't have zebras, beautiful sunsets, and buddies who save me when I get gunned down.

We pitted the three major consoles against each other, to see which one can download games the most quickly.  "Mega Man 9" -- at least initially -- was the guinea pig on our XBox 360s, Wiis and PS3s... Read more...

During the Super Bowl XLIII, I played "PixelJunk Monsters" and "PixelJunk Eden" and watched some other stuff on TV. I didn't avoid the Super Bowl completely, as I caught the last 50 seconds, when the game's biggest play occurred. How many other people replaced the Super Bowl with video games?  (I finished "Killzone 2" earlier in the morning... look for a review of sorts at noon eastern.)

While I played a couple more levels of "Killzone 2" yesterday (don't tell anyone!), the only gaming I can share my thoughts on is "Mirror's Edge" and its one cool-looking free PS3-exclusive level. But what's there to say other than that it looks like a level from "Super Mario 64" or, more precisely, a FLUDD-less level of "Super Mario Sunshine" -- and that, sorry for the mixed signals, developers, I prefer this game when I'm being chased by a gust of bullets?
