Developer The Game Bakers ("Squids," "The Squids Wild West") are swearing that they've licked the problem of the virtual d-pad with their latest, "Combo Crew." The brawler (which is weirdly 4:3) uses a series of swipes for its combat, theoretically avoiding the will-crushing, finger-cramping frustration of the tiny-screen virtual d-pads of games like Capcom's "SFxT" port.
After the jump, check out the "Combo Crew" trailer. The game will be out on iOS and Android this spring.
The dark fantasy title from the "Dead Island" developers gets its first gameplay trailer, complete with infernal monsters attempting to do dirt to your hero character. Techland describes it as a four player first-person slasher. I say throw in some magic and we might have a current-generation "Hexen" followup.
"Hellraid" is coming to the PC, PS3, and Xbox 360 later this year.
In this pre-alpha walkthrough, you can see a pair of new weapons (including the much-discussed dubstep gun), as Volition introduces a new cosmetic weapon customization system. Also: mech combat... and super powers as Volition throws everything (including the kitchen sink and the whole kitchen) into "Saints Row 4."
So it's a little weird that Netherrealm is calling out Batgirl's post-"Killing Joke" history in this trailer, announcing the character's inclusion in "Injustice: Gods Among Us" as DLC. I mean, I guess it gives her a clear rivalry with the Joker (who's wearing his "crippling Barbara Gordon" outfit in the video) but it seems like a lot of extraneous backstory to explain away a lot of stuff that was kind of weird in DC's New 52 (which restored the long-disabled Gordon/Batgirl's ability to walk and waved away her Oracle persona).
Anyway, she's officially official, joining Lobo as a separate 400 MS Point/$4.99 download for the Xbox 360 and PS3.
"Blood Dragon" in a lot of ways is a perfect way to experience vanilla "Far Cry 3" without getting too invested. For 15 bucks (1200 MS Points), Ubisoft smartly detatches the main game and narrative threads of an island hopping, male power fantasy featuring a douchey 20 something for... a male power fantasy featuring a retro throwback of douchey action star. A mouthy look at some of the best (and worst) of what 80's and 90's action movies had to offer -- it's that mid-afternoon cable movie that you've just woken up to after passing out drunk on the couch, bathed in the dim glow of your TV set. Shirtless and confused, you stumble for the remote to turn it off but something compels you to perervere through your stupor because you just saw the most kickass and ridiculous action sequence of any action movie worth its salt.
"It's so bad it's good" seems to be Ubisoft's MO for "Blood Dragon" and it mostly works -- mostly. Read More...
Hey, remember that crazy contest to any parent that could birth a child by 11.11.11. and also name him/her Dovahkiin? Bet this sultry tune would have helped out in the process!
Am I the only one getting all hot and bothered from that video? Who knew the Dragonborn was so smooth -- what with the velvety notes of a tenor sax making sweet love to the main theme of "Skyrim." Read More...
There's been a lot of rumors about Infinity Wards' next tour with the uber-popular Call of Duty series but it looks like we'll finally get a sneak peek today. Snipe the video after the break. Read More...
