Between music videos and new animated series announcements, Nintendo is really gearing up for the October 12th release of "Pokémon X/Y." Add to the pile of tie-in events the animated "Pokémon Origins," a four-part series based on the story of 1998's "Pokémon Red Version" and "Pokémon Blue Version."

According to a press release this morning, the feature will follow "the first steps of our hero Red as he sets off from Professor Oak’s laboratory. As he explores the Kanto region, he’ll encounter Team Rocket, battle his rival, and challenge the Pokémon League." You can check out the first trailer after the jump.

The first episode kicks off with a drunken Liu Kang (Brian Tee, "The Wolverine") getting saved by fellow Shaolin monk Kung Lao (Mark Dacoscos, "The Brotherhood of the Wolf") in a seedy Macau bar. Limbs will be shattered and teeth unexpectedly removed as Liu Kang deals with some anger issues.

It's been a little while since Ubisoft picked up "South Park: The Stick of Truth" in the midst of the dissolution of THQ. The RPG developed by "Fallout: New Vegas" studio Obsidian Entertainment has mostly gone radio silent as the publisher continued to tout a 2013 release date for the RPG.

For whatever reason, the game needed a protracted "analysis" phase by its new owners, but now we've finally got a 2013 release date: December 10th, 2013 for the Xbox 360, PS3, and PC.
