Dead or Alive: Paradise

A "Dead or Alive" game earning an "Mature" rating from the ESRB is about as newsworthy as a Wii game coming in a white box, but official description for Tecmo's "Dead or Alive: Paradise" describes the game in language that aspiring trash romance novel authors may wish to take note of. Anyone picking up "DoA: Paradise" should expect nothing less than the nearly-naked female cast members the series has built its reputation on, and according to the ESRB, they go through some truly "voyeuristic" activities this time around.

Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker

Though "Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker" should still make its May 25th release date in the U.S., the PSP game has been bumped from March 18th to April 29th in Japan. The announcement may ruffle feathers among Japanese gamers, but some of the most critical blogging targeted at the delay has come the game's director, Hideo Kojima.

Critter Crunch

"Critter Crunch," one of the very best games on PSN, is on sale for a piddling $3.49. Considering the game hasn't exactly burned up the sales charts, despite its excellence, I'm hoping that the new price tag will introduce some more fans to the glories of adorable, vomiting marmots.

If you are one of the clever few that have purchased it, though, there are plenty more PSN games on sale. Here's the list:

Today, in an earnings call, Ubisoft revealed that the next game in the "Assassin's Creed" series will feature an online multiplayer mode. This is a first in a series that has, until now, been a strictly solo experience.

Army of Two: The 40th Day PSP

"Army Of Two: The 40th Day" hit the PS3 and PSP simultaneously this week, nearly two years after the original "Army of Two" impressed gamers with its blend of buddy-comedy fun and battlefield co-op action. In both platforms, your two-man team finds itself stuck in Shanghai, China, as another private security force takes over the city, blowing stuff up and generally ruining Salem and Rios' plans for a quick-and-easy contract. However, while the PSP version of the game follows a nearly identical story as its PS3 counterpart, that's where the similarities end.

Tetsuya Nomura patent

Between the "Kingdom Hearts" and "Final Fantasy" series, Square Enix designer Tetsuya Nomura has a lot of very visible accomplishments under his belt. He also has a few unrevealed projects, though, and a recent patent application may hold a few clues about what he has in store for 2010.

Duke Nukem

3D Realms may be a much smaller company than it was prior to the "Duke Nukem Forever" development team's departure last May, but laying off internal development manpower may not have killed off their flat-topped action hero. In fact, despite their current legal argument with publisher Take-Two over "DNF," 3D Realms is still predicting new Duke games in the near future.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2

Last week I gave my top 5 favorite games of 2009. I'm well aware that 5 was not nearly enough to include every enjoyable game that released in the last 12 months, so I've handed it off to the contributors of MTV Multiplayer to share some of their picks. These are specifically games that didn't make my list, but are still awesome and noteworthy.

Metal Gear Solid Peace Walker

Grand pappy Snake's next portable adventure, "Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker," is meant to be a full sequel to "Metal Gear Solid 3," with traditional "MGS"-style gameplay, unlike "Portable Ops." But don't take my word for it. Konami is releasing a demo for the game on PSN today, allowing folks to get a taste of the title on their PSPs before the release in 2010.

So yeah, go take a look. Just try to avoid those pesky time paradoxes.
