assassins-creed-4-kenway

The new trailer for "Assassin's Creed 4: Black Flag" gives us a little bit of the pirate captain's origin story as he rejects his British masters for a life on the high seas, stealing stuff and shooting at the Navy.

gran-turismo-6

Eurogamer's on the ground in Silverstone where Sony has announced that the latest entry in the "Gran Turismo" series will be out later this year for the PS3.

In their reveal this morning, Sony and Polyphony Digital promised fans that all of the vehicles from "Gran Turismo 5" would be returning alongside seven new tracks and, of course, hundreds more meticulously-rendered cars.

Adventure Time_Characters

The creators of Cartoon Network's "Adventure Time" don't bury the series' 8-bit inspirations too deep: it's not uncommon for the series to play with the tropes of classic dungeon crawlers as animated hero Finn goes on whatever monster-slaying, treasure-hunting quest is set before him that week, set to a chiptune soundtrack. The season 5 episode "Mystery Dungeon" plays with these elements well, putting a mismatched group of the show's side characters together for an unexpected, stupid journey.

Anyway, that's all to say that D3 Publisher's announcement of their second "Adventure Time" game is a welcome one. Instead of going handheld as they did with the "Zelda II"-like "Adventure Time: Hey Ice King! Why’d You Steal Our Garbage?!," this fall's "Adventure Time: Explore the Dungeon Because I DON’T KNOW!" will be headed to consoles and the PC.

Wolftenstein: the New Order

I have, in all likelihood, straight-up merked untold thousands of humanoid enemies over the course of my digital career, but I've never really felt comfortable blasting away at animals. Even as a kid, shooting "Wolfenstein 3D"'s pixelated German Shepherds was more problematic for me than gruesomely dispatching mecha-Hitler

The-Bureau-xcom-declassified-high-res-01

Hey, remember when 2K Marin announced a new XCOM game way back in 2010 and everyone got super excited about defending Earth against a new alien threat via a three-quater tactical view? Remember how when they said it would be a first person shooter instead and all those excited fans got really upset that it had been "dumbed down" for the masses of COD kiddies? What we saw during that 2010 E3 was a mixed bag for some and for most accounts 2K Marin has been mum about any details -- so much so that fans got tossed a quick but really fantastic (seriously it was our GOTY for 2012) franchise entry as "XCOM: Enemy Unknown" to keep some of the hardcore fans satiated. Well, a lot can change in three years and what may have been another mediocre shooter clone got altered into a tactical third person shooter blending elements from "XCOM: EU" and "Mass Effect" set during the Cold War.

We got a taste of what "The Bureau" would be a few weeks ago with this haunting live action trailer and last week I got a hands-on demo of what to expect come this summer.

Hey U.K. readers: is it normal for promotions outside of games to get really, really weird? Like, do big horror movies open up interactive morgues or something equally elaborate and potentially grotesque?

Capcom is the latest to join in on the attention-grabbing/disconnected from the product marketing with an upcoming promotion where the U.K. arm of the publisher will fill a 55,000 gallon swimming pool with blood with swag on the bottom for the very limited number of fans brave enough to bob for "Resident Evil" merchandise.

Watch-Dogs-high-res-MTV-Multiplayer-3

Between "Watch_Dogs"' E3 2012 debut and its demo at the PlayStation 4 unveiling, Ubisoft has only offered glimpses on how hacking can be used in the game's open world. We know it plays a central role in both the narrative and as a survival tool. Yet we haven't had a chance to see this mechanic in a free roaming context. This week, Ubisoft gave us a more robust look at "Watch_Dogs": about 30 minutes of open world gameplay, without a single second devoted to the campaign. Here are the five things that has me more excited about "Watch_Dogs", and five things has piqued my curiosity:
