Vlambeer is unquestionably one of the hottest indie developers at the moment. Their last game, Ridiculous Fishing, took iOS by storm, and their soon to be released next effort, LUFTRAUSERS, is something all discerning Vita owners are aching for.

But then there's Wasteland Kings. What's that? The next game in their pipeline, a top down shooter that was borne from Mojam 2013, and which apparently is a "best of" Vlambeer of sorts.

Once upon a time, Japan was the be-all and end-all of game development, but things have changed considerably. Consoles nowadays are overflowing with quality software from the US, Europe, and parts elsewhere, from both major publishers and indie developers.

Once "PlayStation All-Stars" was yanked from the hands of original developer SuperBot Entertainment, who had big plans, and given to Santa Monica Studio, who later made it be known that they had zero interest in doing much with it, like releasing the Journey/Gravity Rush content that the previous owners were prepping, the writing appeared on the wall for Sony's Smash Bros wannabe.

And the final nail in the coffin has just been hit: "PlayStation All-Stars" has just been reborn as a free to play app for iOS and Android, one that is designed entirely to promote Coke Zero.

If you're a PlayStation Plus member, it's time once again to fire up the PS3 (and Vita) to nab your monthly allotment of free games. Actually, the latest offering isn't quite ready, though perhaps by the time you read this, Sony will have flipped the switch.

And when it does, you can expect Hitman: Absolution for PS3. Then later this month, you can expect Bit.Trip Presents Runner2 for PS3, Zen Pinball 2: Star Wars Pinball for PS3/Vita, Darkstalkers Chronicle: The Chaos Tower for PS3/Vita, and Machinarium for just the Vita.

Once Hitman: Absolution arrives, it'll replace Battlefield 3, which as of this writing at least, it's still up for grabs. Plus you also have a bunch of deep discounts, as usual, which are all detailed over at the PlayStation Blog.
