You didn't expect Valve to announce its own OS without a box to run it on, did you? Today they announced that they would be partnering with multiple developers as well as creating their own prototype hardware in 2014, as well as a beta program for current Steam users to see what they've been cooking up.

south-park-stick-of-truth-destiny-trailer

It's been a little while since Ubisoft picked up "South Park: The Stick of Truth" in the midst of the dissolution of THQ. The RPG developed by "Fallout: New Vegas" studio Obsidian Entertainment has mostly gone radio silent as the publisher continued to tout a 2013 release date for the RPG.

For whatever reason, the game needed a protracted "analysis" phase by its new owners, but now we've finally got a 2013 release date: December 10th, 2013 for the Xbox 360, PS3, and PC.

Fez

Glitches and bugs are an inescapable part of game development, but they usually get squashed with extreme prejudice. That's too bad, though: as this collection of images from "Fez" developer Renaud Bédard shows, glitches can sometimes be beautifully striking

At some point, something's probably going to kill you in this choose-your-path trailer for Techland's "Hellraid."

It's a clever gimmick, but needs a little work here: interactive "Hellraid" prequel trailer "Edyn's Escape" is set a week before the events of the upcoming game, placing you in the role of doomed monk Edyn as he attempts to avoid the forces of darkness and imminent death in a monastery full of monsters. Unfortunately, it feels like one of those choose your own adventure books where you didn't have any clues as to what was coming next, leading to frequent, frustrating deaths.

With their first trailer for the the oddball side scrolling horror game "Knock-Knock," developer Ice-Pick Lodge has packed in a bunch of mythology and mystery around the upcoming PC release. There's a whole backstory about receiving mysterious mails begging them to create a game based on the concept of blindly stumbling around in the dark, pursued by strangers and monsters, when all Ice-Pick Lodge really needs to do is sit someone in front of the trailer for "Knock-Knock" and they'll be interested.

Nowhere

"Nowhere," an in-development project by a German two-person studio called Duangle, is probably the most creative first-person sandbox game pitch I've ever heard. A quick and dirty comparison might be something like "Spore," but within a persistent single-player saga.

Rogue Legacy

"Rogue Legacy," Cellar Door Games' procedurally-generated roguelike-meets-Punnett-square platformer became the surprise indie hit of the summer and the quirky, colorful figurehead atop a general resurgence in the genre. There's only one problem, though -- "Rogue Legacy" was announced for PC, Mac, and Linux.

The PC version was released back in July, but the other versions are nowhere to be found.
