"Men's Room Mayhem," available today for PS Vita and coming soon to mobile platforms, could be viewed as a take on that idea. Nvidia has revealed that Project Shield is dropping the "project" from it's name. Simply known as Shield from here on out, the Tegra 4-powered Android gaming unit is now available for pre-order to those who signed up on Nvidia's official page. The rest of the world can place a pre-order on May 20th in preparation for a June 20th release.

Developer The Game Bakers ("Squids," "The Squids Wild West") are swearing that they've licked the problem of the virtual d-pad with their latest, "Combo Crew." The brawler (which is weirdly 4:3) uses a series of swipes for its combat, theoretically avoiding the will-crushing, finger-cramping frustration of the tiny-screen virtual d-pads of games like Capcom's "SFxT" port.
