Jedis, Stormtroopers and Batmans, beware! There's a new costume in town that's taking over conventions, and his name is Captain Jack Sparrow. We literally saw a dozen or more people (men and women alike), not just dressed as pirates, but as the pie-eyed protagonist for the ever-popular Pirates of the Caribbean movies. What you see above is a culmination of a day's work of hunting Jack Sparrows to photograph (we coaxed these three pirates to come together for this monumental picture). How many Sparrows can you spot in this photo?

More Jack Sparrows after the jump.

d20_4077.jpgWe saw The Simpsons creator Matt Groening milling around the Simpsons booth, and it wasn't long before fans crowded around him to score some photos. The movie came out in theaters last night to rave reviews, and the video game, which we saw at E3, looks to be the best Simpsons playable since the 1991 arcade game made by Konami.

d20_4011.jpgAt the Wizard Entertainment booth, we spotted Michael Madsen, the star of many, many movies and video games (he's lent his voice talents to Reservoir Dogs, Yakuza, Narc, Driv3r, True Crime: Streets of L.A. and a little game called Grand Theft Auto III). One of his next films is Sin City 2 for 2008, and I wouldn't be surprised if his voice made it into the upcoming Sin City game.

headerlogo2.jpg* Exclusive trailer premiere: Dee Snider presents Hatchet.

* Patrick Wilson talks and his co-stars confirm that the Watchmen movie is next. Also, the release date is announced, Dr. Manhattan will be all CG and the poster is revealed.

* Shoot ‘Em Up director Michael Davis screens his film and loves every minute of it.

* New posters debut for J.J. Abrams’ mystery project and Star Trek.

* Talledega Nights star Leslie Bibb talks to MTV News about her upcoming role in Iron Man as Christine Everheart.

* And don't believe every T-shirt you see.

We were invited to a party for the new game for the Aqua Teen Hunger Force cartoon, titled Aqua Teen Hunger Force Zombie Ninja Pro-Am, which I recently saw at E3. There we interviewed the cartoon's eccentric creators Dave Willis and Matt Maeillaro, and we also had a little fun with some of the show's characters, Frylock and Master Shake.

This is a movie prop from Black Sheep, a film about -- you guessed it -- zombie sheep. The movie was written and directed by Jonathan King, and it's like a sheep-laden Shaun of the Dead; it combined the serious with the silly as well as amazingly gory special effects (done by Peter Jackson's Weta Workshop). I have to say, it was the best zombie sheep movie I've ever seen! Expect it on DVD on October 9th.

headerlogo1.jpgThe MTV Movies team continues its non-stop coverage of movie news, and the first day of Comic Con revealed some exciting things for the world of science-fiction:

* New Iron Man footage is shown.

* Two Spocks in one: Leonard Nimoy will appear as Spock in the new Star Trek movie alongside officially confirmed Zachary Quinto (Sylar from NBC's "Heroes").

* J.J. Abrams speaks about his mystery movie. Sorta.

* Clues are given away -- like in a bag -- at the Paramount panel for Indiana Jones IV. Also just announced: Karen Allen will reprise her role as Marion Ravenwood from Raiders of the Lost Ark.

* Pirates Of The Caribbean unavoidably drops anchor -- literally.

d20_3597.jpgRemember Grindhouse? The severely underrated double feature by Quentin Tarantino and Robert Rodriguez released back in April? Well this is Cherry Darling, an amputee turned lethal weapon (played by Rose McGowan) from Planet Terror, Rodriguez's half of the film. And just where did they find an amputee in Rose McGowan's likeness? Amputees in Hollywood, an organization that helps amputees (like 18 year-old Lacey Henderson shown here) find modeling and acting work. Lacey was the highlight of the day so far...

headerlogo.jpg The MTV Movies crew is also attending the San Diego Comic Con, ready to give you the update on all the latest movie news. Here's the wrap-up of what went on during the preview night:

* A sneak peek at the elaborate, prop-filled Golden Compass booth.

* The Watchmen cast is finally revealed!

* A screening of Beowulf, a Robert Zemeckis CGI film slated to be released in November, starring Angelina Jolie and Anthony Hopkins.

While the new re-design of the PSP was underwhelming (I had hoped for a second analog stick at least), they did announce a re-designed PSP that I'm really excited about: the white PSP with a profile of Darth Vader imprinted on the back. It was shown to us by none other than the Wookiee of all Wookiees himself:

For $199, it also comes with Star Wars Battlefront: Renegade Squadron, where you'll play as one of Han Solo's elite troopers. Frickin' sweet! (Yeah, I'm a nerd.)
