The news yesterday that "Shadow of the Colossus" might be made into a major motion picture, brought to you by at least one of the people behind the recent "Street Fighter" movie, didn't worry me a bit. Watch Lunchtime Video to find out why -- and to look outside my window. (And read the Ben Fritz piece I linked to for a few more details on the film.)

"We are an example of trying and failing" - Dwayne Johnson to MTV News on the topic of getting video game movies right. He's talking about the 2005 "Doom" movie he starred in. "It always just comes down to writing and material," Johnson said, something he doesn't think the "Doom" movie was good at. Check out the rest of his interview with MTV News' Josh Horowitz above.

Video games are the perfect format for robot smashing, and even though the original "Transformers" game was nothing to write home about, the Super Bowl spot for "Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen" inspired me with hope that Activision Blizzard can pull it together for the sequel. Read more...

Paul W.S. Anderson's work on the "Resident Evil" movies creates polarizing reactions. That hasn't stopped him from still working with games.

The writer-director has been trying to get  "Castlevania" movie off the ground for years.

But last year's writer's strike, combined with a looming threat of an actor's strike, means "Castlevania" has been sidetracked, he told IGN Movies.

"We still want to make the movie, but I can't say we're going into production in January or anything like that," said Anderson. "It's a project that everybody likes. I love the videogame. I think the script is really strong. Everyone is really enthusiastic about it, but we're still in the process of deciding when the movie gets shot."

Anderson has also been tied to a "Spy Hunter" adaptation, but the submitted script wasn't strong and he's since removed himself from the project.

A "Castlevania" delay means changes could still be made. If you were in charge of the "Castlevania" movie, what would you want to include?

"Clock Tower" is a PlayStation gaming franchise that has gone untouched since 2003, but Hollywood has continued to circle the game with the man with giant scissors.

The theatrical adaptation has been reported as only loosely based on the game series. Be honest -- do you remember anything from "Clock Tower"?

We all remember the iconic villain, though, who is predominantly featured in this series of movie posters made available online by Russian film site Filmz.ru (as discovered by horror site Bloody Disgusting).

We've included our two favorite posters below.
