After announcing back in August that the wildly popular Arma II mod DayZ would be getting its own standalone release, creator Dean Hall explained during Eurgamer Expo that he has been crunching to get the sprawling zombie action game a standalone release in order to beat copycats and imitators.
The Zombies Are Headed to Nuketown in 'Black Ops 2'

Black Ops 2's zombie mode will be making a moveable feast out of the surviving players, who'll hop on a bus for a trip around the bombed-out Nuketown. Contrary to my best guess last week, it doesn't look like players will be defending the bus in some kind of mobile zombie-killing rig.
Also: hair metal.
You can get the Nuketown map with a preorder of the Hardened or Care Package editions of Black Ops 2 for the PS3, PC, and Xbox 360. No word on if a similar edition will be available for the Wii U port.

Arkane's 'Dishonored' Tells 'The Tales of Dunwall' In These Prequel Webisodes

In the first two parts of a three-part web series, developer Arkane Studios explores what went down before Dishonored's supernatural assassin Corvo began walking the path of vengeance. In the first one, "The Awakening," a philosopher ponders his life's ambitions only to discover that everything he worked for was wrong.
The trio of shorts are scored by Dexter composer Daniel Licht who also supplies the music for the game.

Ugh, that's got to be the worst: going on a lovely vacation with your significant other, only to find that you're trapped inside of a horrific and later poingnant zombie nightmare. At least, that's how I read the Dead Island games through their trailers, with loving families getting just destroyed thanks to a pernicious living dead menace.

Sorry for the lateness on this one, but developer U4iA's goofy (in a good way) FPS Offensive Combat was a title that I promised to get around to in the wake of our PAX Prime coverage. Bellevue, WA-based U4iA's game is the lighter side of shooting other players online with an eye towards capturing some of the anarchic spirit of fast-paced FPS classics like Quake 3 Arena.
Zombies Confirmed: 'Black Ops II' Zombies Preview On The Way September 26th

At least, that's what I'm sure the developers at Treyarch were thinking players might be saying when they play the new zombie mode heading to Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 which will have its official preview on September 26th. Right now we've got this teaser trailer for, I assume, the full trailer which will debut next Wednesday.
Featuring a decrepit bus making its way through a ruined city, I'm wondering if this time out, players will be tasked with protecting a mobile base from the living dead menace. We'll find out more next week.

Oddjob, You Sneaky Son Of A Gun - 'Goldfinger' Joins The '007 Legends' Lineup

The 1964 film completes the lineup of storylines coming to EON Productions/Activision's FPS tied to this winter's Skyfall. In this one, Daniel Craig will stand in for Sean Connery whose Bond was tasked in Goldfinger with stopping gold magnate Auric Goldfinger from irradiating the fold supply at Fort Knox.
Oh, and it's the one with Pussy Galore.
