Animator Dan The Ad Man created this fascinating tribute to "Street Fighter II" as an exercise to teach himself 3D animation programs. His "Street Fighter Mograph" uses a series of geometric and abstracted forms to evoke Guile, Chun Li, and Ken.

Developer The Game Bakers ("Squids," "The Squids Wild West") are swearing that they've licked the problem of the virtual d-pad with their latest, "Combo Crew." The brawler (which is weirdly 4:3) uses a series of swipes for its combat, theoretically avoiding the will-crushing, finger-cramping frustration of the tiny-screen virtual d-pads of games like Capcom's "SFxT" port.

After the jump, check out the "Combo Crew" trailer. The game will be out on iOS and Android this spring.

batgirl-injustice-trailer

So it's a little weird that Netherrealm is calling out Batgirl's post-"Killing Joke" history in this trailer, announcing the character's inclusion in "Injustice: Gods Among Us" as DLC. I mean, I guess it gives her a clear rivalry with the Joker (who's wearing his "crippling Barbara Gordon" outfit in the video) but it seems like a lot of extraneous backstory to explain away a lot of stuff that was kind of weird in DC's New 52 (which restored the long-disabled Gordon/Batgirl's ability to walk and waved away her Oracle persona).

Anyway, she's officially official, joining Lobo as a separate 400 MS Point/$4.99 download for the Xbox 360 and PS3.

You can check out the trailer after the jump.

With the recent announcement of intergalactic bounty hunter Lobo coming to "Injustice" as the first DLC character, we got to thinking about others who would be a great fit for developer Netherrealm Studios' DC Universe fighting game.

After the jump, we've got a list of ten characters who would be essential picks (and maybe should have been in the game at release), offering Batman, Lex Luthor, and the rest of the "Injustice" heroes and villains some formidable challenges while mining the legacy of the DC Universe.

And of course he gets a Scorpion-style chain attack. It would be weird if he didn't.

DC Comics' cigar-chomping, dreadlocked, intergalactic bounty hunter is coming to "Injustice: Gods Among Us" developer Netherrealms wants us to see what he looks like delivering a beatdown to Batman. His chain attack appears to augment a more up close and personal fighting style featuring slow but heavy attacks. Can't say I'm wild about his Super, which sees the Main Man melting faces with his spacefaring hover bike.

Lobo will be available on May 7.

Par for the course with a Netherrealm fighting game, "Injustice" is packed with alternate costumes for its heroes and villains, some unlocked through the story campaign, others through the interactions with the iOS app (and more still by simply buying the Season Pass). YouTube user Clownfyre has gone and compiled this video of the various costumes you can find throughout the game. The first one is above and you can check out the second one after the jump.
