Today is my last day as a full-time reporter on MTV Multiplayer. But don't fret: the blog will continue and be in good hands. Read more...

Dear Readers,

MTV Multiplayer is back. We're still in a transition phase, but anticipate a larger announcement this week. Meanwhile, expect stories this week on Batman, Wolverine, real-world controversies and lots more moving forward.

We really appreciate your patience.

- Tracey

Dear readers,

Since its launch, the MTV Multiplayer blog has been held to a high standard. The team, past and present, has been flattered by the expectations of all of you, who have pushed us to provide the best games reporting and criticism that we could manage.

Because April 24 is my last day, and because our search for the best team to continue Multiplayer is underway but not yet complete, we're putting the blog on hiatus.

MTV has had a fierce commitment to video games for years. Look for it to continue. I've worked with the company these last two weeks to point Multiplayer toward a bright future and I'm excited about the possibilities. Give the blog a couple of weeks... and join me in anticipating its return.

As I depart, I'd like to thank Tracey John for her wonderful work as Multiplayer's other blogger. I'm proud of our team and the support we've had from MTV.

-Stephen Totilo

It is with no regrets and much pride in what we've accomplished at MTV Multiplayer, that I am leaving MTV News this Friday after a wonderful four-year run.

I'm at the 2009 Game Developers Conference. Tracey will be here shortly. Things will be different this week as we cover what should be a fantastic series of panels, demos, interviews and speeches involving some major games and some major developers. For most of the event, you can expect short posts from us, quick takes on what we're seeing and hearing. Some regular features, like Lunchtime Video, will take the week off. And some major interviews we're doing this week will probably not run until early next.

We'll be back to normal next week, but we hope, for GDC 2009 that you like our experiment and keep checking in throughout the day. It should be fun!

Lunchtime Video is bumped today, but check back in at noon to see what is taking its place: the most embarassing video that's ever been taken of me in the course of me doing my job. We will have Nintendo to thank for this.

As readers should know by now, today is the last day of our ace reporter Patrick Klepek's current stint at MTV Multiplayer. I say "current," because I dream of bringing him back into the fold one day. For now, I hope people memorize that Klepek name and follow the byline of one of the best reporters in the field, wherever it winds up. Patrick made MTV Multiplayer much better than it could have ever been without him. He's at the top of his game and will be sorely missed.

Hey, Patrick: I enlisted a celebrity guest to wish you farewell. Would you kindly look below to see which famous person wishes you well? Read more...

Yesterday, I promised readers that I'd reveal the results of my video game battle with Soulja Boy on Multiplayer today. We've been hard at work making a  video show that shows the best -- and most hilarious parts -- of the competition. I'm sure you'll enjoy watching. But the show needed a little more time than expected. Look it and the rest of my post announcing the results at 10AM ET Thursday. Sorry for the delay!

Let's hope nothing important happens in the video game industry until Monday, December 1. Your Multiplayer blogging team is on vacation until then. We're celebrating Thanksgiving, because that's what Americans do.

If any news breaks while we're away, uh, ignore it?

Please play some games while we're away, everyone!

We'll only have a few updates for you while we're away. And they're kind of ... different.

I'm happy to let regular readers of the site know that one of the biggest complaints about our comments system has been fixed - mostly!

You can now use HTML in your comments, including.... linebreaks! No longer will your multi-paragraph posts be turned into big seamless glops of freeverse poetry. When you comment from now on, please just type <br> at the end of a line where you want a break, and the linebreak will manifest itself.

And you thought the Xbox 360 was the only gaming service getting an upgrade today! (Sorry, though, that simply pressing your Enter key will not register as a linebreak. You need to use the <br> tag.)

So... anyone want to compliment me on my clever headline? Please do so in multiple paragraphs.
