We contacted Intellisponse, but reps declined to comment on the leak yesterday.

However, we have heard from Sega regarding one part of the leak: an alleged video reveal of a game called "The Crucible: The Evil Within," rumored to be the previously unnamed Silicon Knights game for Sega.

MTV Multiplayer got in touch with Sega rep Steve Groll via e-mail, and he told us:

"That video is not the game that Silicon Knights is creating for us. I have no idea if it is a game they are working on for someone else, but it's definitely not the project that Silicon Knights and SEGA are producing. I can't reveal any info about the game we currently have in development, but I can tell you that it is not titled 'The Crucible.' More news about our game coming soon."

Reached for comment yesterday, a representative from Silicon Knights responded that the development studio could not comment on rumors.

(Joystiq indexed it all here.)

How did this happen? Is it real? What should gamers make of all of it?

Today, a spokesperson representing the apparent source of all this information tells MTV Multiplayer that there's nothing to talk about.

"It is our policy that we do not comment on rumor or speculation," Elizabth McCrocklin of Janine Gordon Associates told me in an e-mail. McCrocklin's firm represents the Harrison Group, a polling and research group that runs Connecticut-based entity Intellisponse. The information that leaked was all sourced back to Intellisponse.

("Call of Duty" image via Xbox 360 Fanboy. Intellisponse Logo via Intellisponse.com)

I replied, asking how this information leak, that was sourced back to URLs bearing the Intellisponse domain, could be considered rumor or speculation rather than a real event.

MTV Multiplayer has also contacted representatives for Microsoft, Activision and Silicon Knights (the last of whom may have had their previously unannounced Sega game leaked). We'll let you know if we hear anything more from them or Intellisponse.
