Released earlier this week as the sole WiiWare title, "Gyrostarr" offers a fast-paced take on the on-rails shooter genre. Confined to a half-tube, the enemies come at you head-on, and you need to take them out and power up your ship before the end of each course. While it may appear to be similar to "Amplitude," and "N2O: Nitrous Oxide," the gameplay and mechanics are a bit different (including motion controls), plus the "Gyrostarr" ship has a grappling hook.

Take a look at the first '120 Seconds' of gameplay and judge for yourself.

The first two playable minutes of "Battlefield: Bad Company" (PS3, Xbox 360) is like going to school with the bad kids. Watch the first '120 Seconds' of the game, and learn almost everything you need to know about how to play, including, but not limited to:

A) How to blow holes in a house.
B) How to pimp a pimp (repair) a military ride with just a "power tool."
C) How to heal yourself with your auto-injector

"Battlefield: Bad Company" is out today on Xbox 360 and PS3.

Based on the animated series from the 1960's, "Wacky Races: Crash & Dash" for the Wii picks up right where the cartoon left off. In the first two playable minutes of the race above, Penelope Pitstop is riding in her Compact Pussycat, trying to take the lead, but Dick Dastardly and Muttley are out to stop her, and all the other Wacky Racers. Throughout the course of each race you can see them try to hinder all of the racers by setting up traps, like the one in this video where Dick Dastardly deflates all the tires from the cars.

Watch what happens in the first '120 Seconds' of "Wacky Races: Crash & Dash" and see if I manage to escape the clutches of the evil Dastardly by beating the mid-race mini-game.

Everyone knows that Don King knows how to hype, especially when it's about his own video game. But could he actually train a boxer? Watch the first "120 Seconds" of "Don King Presents: Prizefighter" to see if his new game's training mode has what it takes to get you ready to step into the ring.

In honor of Multiplayer's ongoing quest to find the greatest animal in video game history, we are dedicating our regularly Retro Thursday "120 Seconds" to one of the cats that was nominated today -- namely, "Bubsy."

Released in 1993 for the Super Nintendo and Sega Genesis, "Bubsy: In Claws Encounters of the Furred Kind" may appear to be very similar to another, slightly more blue mascot, but this kitty has his own charm. Watch the video and see just home many colored balls of yarn he can collect in two minutes.

One of this week's WiiWare releases, "Block Breaker Deluxe" is not your dad's "Arkanoid" rip-off. Based off the cell phone game of the same name, "Block Breaker" adapts the left and right paddle shifting controls surprisingly well to the Wiimote, and adds the ability to "catch" your items with the pointer.

Check out the first "120 Seconds" of "Block Breaker Deluxe," where I blow through the first three levels. (And I'd appreciate it if you could overlook how I lost a ball very quickly at the beginning of the second level. Thanks.)

If the Prince ever got the chance to fly a plane in "Katamari Damacy" then he would have come dangerously close to being in "Blast Works: Build, Trade, Destroy." Watch for "120 Seconds," and you'll see what I mean.

Based on Kenta Cho's flash game "Tumiki Fighters," you collect enemies as you shoot them out of the sky, and then add them to your plane as additional support (both offensive and defensive). My little bi-plane just kept getting bigger and bigger as it flew through the first two minutes of the campaign mode.

The video above combines anime, time-stopping, and mini-bosses in the first '120 Seconds' of "Castle of Shikigami III." The "Shikigami" series has always put a different spin on the shoot-em-up genre, offering up sorcerers instead of spaceships, and the newest title is no different. Check out the first two playable minutes of one psychic's trip into "Shikigami'"s Swan Castle in today's '120 Seconds.'

"Enemy Territory: Quake Wars" is a bit like what college was supposed to prepare us for: you can be anything you want to be. You can even build whatever you want to build. Need a ladder? No problem. Craving a turret? Just need ten seconds, and a pair of magical needle nose pliers. Just watch out for those pistol-packing Strogg aliens.

Check out the first two minutes of "Quake Wars" and see how I barely survive all '120 Seconds.'

Metal Gear Solid (1998)

With "Metal Gear Solid 4" in stores today '120 Seconds' takes a look back at the other 3D games in the series, to see how they stack up against Kojima's latest project. With five videos in this post you can really see the evolution of Snake from the PS1 "Metal Gear Solid" to where he is today on the PS3 in "MGS4." Watch and compare, and remember this is a sneaking mission.
