Katy Perry: "Now I'm A Sim!"

Electronic Arts announced today that they will be working with pop star Katy Perry on an "integrated and exciting collaboration" between her and The Sims. Perry, a Sims fan herself, will be featured in advertising and marketing for the best-selling game franchise, and in-game fashions, hairstyles, backgrounds, and accessories featuring the singer's unique style will also be available.
Said Perry:
"I love how you're able to play out different stories through your Sims characters - giving them different careers and watching them succeed. It's cool to see the Sims' stage performances in The Sims 3 Showtime decked out just like my California Dreams Tour — even my cotton candy video screens are in there! I always like to think of myself as a cartoon, and now I'm a Sim!"
Her collaboration with EA starts with The Sims™ 3 Showtime Katy Perry Collector's Edition, now available for pre-order. This edition include various Perry-related downloadable items including fashions, a guitar, a hairstyle, stage props, and an exclusive poster. Read More...

I'm not sure if this very fancy-looking dress worn by the wife of Rovio's Peter Vesterbacka is the height of pop-culture chic, really obvious product-placement, a sign she really loves her hubby and supports his business, or all three:
The event was the President of Finland's Independence Day bash, and wildly-successful Finnish game developers Rovio must be a source of national pride. While this is not the first item of Angry Birds-inspired women's apparel I've seen, it is certainly the most elegant and subtle(ish). Can an American off-the-rack knockoff be far behind?
