With the "God of War Collection," Sony unleashes Kratos on the Playstation 3 with a double-feature of "God of War" and "God of War II" on a single Blu-Ray disc, remastered for high-definition video and accompanied by an array of PSN trophies and various other next-gen features. Oh, and it comes with a "God of War III" demo, too.

Fans of fighting games tend to have their loyalties divided between the "Tekken" and "Soul Calibur" franchises these days, with each side arguing the merits of their respective title and its various iterations over the last decade or so. The recently released "Tekken 6" raises that bar yet again, giving fighter fans a lot to be happy about and redefining the scope of the genre.

Released for the Nintendo DS earlier this year, "Grand Theft Auto: Chinatown Wars" debuted on the PSP this week. The new version of "Chinatown Wars" offers much of the same experience as far as your ability to blow up, assassinate, terrorize and drug-hustle your way through Liberty City's underworld as its DS counterpart, with a variety of tweaks to the graphics and controls, as well as some extra missions exclusive to the PlayStation format.

Being a Playstation loyalist of sorts, I didn't play "Ninja Gaiden 2" when it was released last year for the Xbox 360, so Tecmo's "Sigma" version of the game for Playstation 3 is my first experience with warrior ninja Ryu Hyabusa's latest adventure.

With any franchise of sports games, there's a certain level of difficulty in reviewing a given year's release—even moreso if you haven't played each and every edition from year to year. Instead, I can offer up a "clean slate" review from someone new to Sony's NBA franchise.

Multiplayer editor Russ Frushtick likes to rag on me about how much time I spend playing Capcom's "Monster Hunter Freedom Unite" on my PSP (the UMD has barely left the system since I reviewed the game back in July), but with "SoulCalibur: Broken Destiny," I've found something that could take the place of "Monster Hunter" for the foreseeable future.
Much like its recent Playstation 3 counterpart, "SoulCalibur IV," "Broken Destiny" offers an experience well beyond the standard fighting game that's both original and compelling instead of feeling like a last-minute addition.

"Jak & Daxter: The Lost Frontier" hits shelves this fall, but we received an early peek at the game this week.
The demo included three levels to play through, each offering a taste of the main styles of play found in the game. There's your standard 3D platform mode consisting of jumping, shooting and using your powers, a flight mode that has you piloting Jak's ship and taking down an airborne target via machine gun fire and missiles, and finally, the "Dark Daxter" mode in which you spin through various levels as a monstrous, mutated Daxter, smashing everything in sight.
