Back in July, we brought you news that Ubisoft's movie arm was planning an Assassin's Creed movie around actor Michael Fassbender. Now they've partnered up with production studio New Regency to continue the slow march to getting the eternal battle between Assassins and Templars to the big screen.

A new Platinum Games release is always cause for at least curiosity on my part. Okay, if we're being honest, when I heard that the Bayonetta dev was showing off their latest at San Diego Comic-Con, I got that kind of squealing, breathless excitement reserved for teenage girls and, let's say Justin Bieber sporting a new haircut (I don't know what teenagers like). That's to say, I can trust that even if I'm not guaranteed to be in love with whatever the game ends up being, I trust that Platinum will at least bring something new to the gaming arena.
This time around, Platinum makes their second appearance on a Nintendo console with the superhero-themed Pikmin-like game, currently-named Project P-100. While this didn't get much love during Nintendo's big E3 presentation (perhaps because it was too close to their own third Pikmin outing), I now can say I have a Wii U title that I would be willing to buy the console for without qualification thanks to my seven minutes with the game's timed demo.

During SDCC, THQ and Obsidian showed off some of the story and gameplay from their upcoming RPG set in the South Park universe during a video presentation.

After the reveal a couple of weeks back that Will Yun Lee would be heading up the voice cast of United Front Games' Sleeping Dogs, I've been curious about how the developer along with publisher Square Enix planned on filling out the rest of the voice cast. And apparently, they decided to go the Hong Kong/Hollywood route, bringing on a lot of familiar actors from both industries.

Lightbox Interactive's Starhawk takes the wide-open battlefield of its spiritual predecessor, Warhawk, and drops in an intriguing mix of third-person shooter, vehicle combat, air combat, and strategy, all wrapped in a sci-fi/Western wrapper (roughly space settlers vs. space natives, and you probably don't want to go too far down the path investigating the "wipe out the native inhabitants" mentality at the core of the game). In spite of a super-rough story, a very short campaign, and limited multiplayer modes, Starhawk offers some pleasures if you want to put your time into it.
