Star Wars Imperial Academy iPhone

"Rolando" and "Topple" established ngmoco as a name in Apple's App Store, but they branched out into the FPS space with their "Eliminate" releases, and they're sticking around with a new Star Wars title thanks to their partners at THQ Wireless. "Star Wars Imperial Academy" joins "The Battle for Hoth" on iPhones and iPod touches in nodding to the 30th anniversary of "The Empire Strikes Back" as an iDevice exclusive, and ngmoco wants everyone to know that they made the game as fans.

Jimmie Johnson racing game

"Mario Kart" meets "Jackass" was the first phrase that came to my mind after watching the trailer for "Jimmie Johnson's Anything With An Engine." The five-time NASCAR premier division champion has his eyes set on making a game for all major consoles now, and unlike his day job, which involves lots of high-speed left turns in cars, this title will feature racing competitions with lawnmowers, toilets and dumpsters. Are you intrigued?

iPad 2

Apple's iPad got an iOS 4.2 update just in time to let the devices perform a few new tricks for the holidays this year, but exactly what the company's next generation of tablet hardware will be capable of is still largely a mystery. If the iPad follows suit with Apple's other iProducts, it should be due for a refresh in 2011, and a new report claims that the iPad 2 will be in production no later than February.

The Agency

It's been quite some time since Sony Online Entertainment began showing off its MMO "The Agency," and though "The Agency: Covert Ops" made its way out for Facebook, we have yet to see the final product for PC and the PlayStation 3 that's advertised on TheAgency.Station.Sony.com (so many dots!). By this time next year, we may have a better idea of what the spy/shooter MMO is all about, however, as SOE reportedly wants it out in 2011.

New Bond game

Activision's recent "GoldenEye 007" launch produced much better results than the game's IP cousin "Blood Stone" this year. A third title was supposedly in the works behind the scenes, only to be put on ice, but an MGM-related rumor and some reel footage may be key indicators that Raven Software has been tasked with pushing forward on the project.

Call of Duty Black Ops PC patch

Treyarch targeted lag issues among other things in a patch last month for "Call of Duty: Black Ops" on the PC, and they'll be rolling out more fixes soon. On their list of things to mend are a care package glitch that's resulted in extremely long killstreaks and some issues that have been affecting players with only two core processers in their machines.

Oddboxx PC

Oddworld Inhabitants hasn't let everything slip about their newly repackaged batch of Steam games, but they have decided on a release window that spans between now and December 31.

Some "new additions and enhancements" will also be included when "Abe's Oddysee," "Abe's Exoddus," "Munch's Oddysee" and "Stranger's Wrath" come to the PC via Steam in time for the holiday season, according to a press release. Details about those features and a more specific launch date are being withheld for now, but they can't be more than few weeks away at the most.

Neil Patrick Harris

Spike TV's 2010 Video Game Awards, which air live this Saturday, December 11, have been stirring up reports and rumors of new game debuts for a few weeks now. Guillermo del Toro's THQ project entered the fray last month, and "Batman: Arkham City" followed soon thereafter. Now, Geoff Keighley's revealed that "Thor: God of Thunder" will be showing off a first look, and "Spider-Man: Shattered Dimensions" voice actor and "How I Met Your Mother" star Neil Patrick Harris has been announced as the event's host.

Batman

While Batman pushes ahead with his "Arkham Asylum" sequel "Batman: Arkham City" on its way and whatever presence Sony Online Entertainment chooses for him in "DC Universe Online," some loyal enthusiasts have just wrapped up a 14-year stint remaking the Caped Crusader's 24-year-old "Batman" game for the ZX Spectrum.

Assassin's Creed survey

Ubisoft has gone on the record to say that they're currently contemplating the next ten years of the Assassin's Creed franchise and have a new sequel in the works for 2011 from their Montreal studio. A new survey that's emerged shows above all else that they're asking big questions behind the scenes, but it may also reveal a few potential changes we could see down the line, including a new main character, new historical time periods and new bomb types.
