Fire Pro Wrestling

Microsoft revealed back at this year's Tokyo Game Show that they'd been working to bring some Japanese-developed games overseas, including "Radiant Silvergun" and "Fire Pro-Wrestling." The latter of those two titles will carry the name of Spike's long-running series that's appeared on the Gameboy Advance, PlayStation 2 and other systems; this time, it will boast Xbox Live Avatar integration. Things appear to be moving along for its 2011 international release, too, because the Australian classification board has issued a rating.

Kinect World of Warcraft

Ever since Microsoft shipped Kinect out into the world, tech-savvy tweakers have been hacking the controller and finding new things do with it, with or without Microsoft's blessing. Researchers at the University of Southern California Institute for Creative Technologies, for instance, have assembled a toolkit that allows them to play "World of Warcraft" and other PC games using a system that maps hot key commands to body gestures, and the group has named their creation the "Flexible Action and Articulated Skeleton Toolkit" (FAAST).

Secret Wars

Marvel Comics has tapped their rich history of mega-crossovers like ""The Infinity Gauntlet" and "Civil War" for video game material in the past. Such stories provide great excuses to stuff as many characters as possible into a book, and the same truism applies to Xbox and PlayStation titles. Now, a freshly filed trademark shows that the company at the very least wants to keep their gaming options open for "Secret Wars," too, whether that means they have something specific in mind yet or not.

Final Fantasy IV Complete Collection

Even as Square Enix struggled to get "Final Fantasy XIV" into presentable shape this year, they marched ever onward exploring and releasing ported versions of older titles from the series. The "Final Fantasy IV Complete Collection" represents one of their latest efforts on that front, and the PlayStation Portable bundling of both "FFIV" and "FFIV: The After Years" now has a release date (in Japan at least) of March 24, 2011.

Nintendo 3DS

While "Mario Kart DS" may have helped to rehabilitate one boy's vision, 3-D viewing via devices like the 3DS could have undesirable impacts on users under 6 years of age. Nintendo was up front as far back as E3 last June regarding potential dangers for young children without fully formed eye muscles, but ahead of some big international unveilings in January they've spelled out those concerns in writing now, along with some other warnings about how the 3DS could make you sick.

Super Meat Boy Wii

Team Meat knew as early as 2 months ago that the fate of "Super Meat Boy" as WiiWare might be in peril. Sadly, its demise has now been confirmed, though a Wii retail release might still have a small chance at seeing the light of day. As a Multiplayer favorite for 2010 and one of the more challenging new 2D platformers in recent memory, the news saddens us, but all hope may not be lost.

Galactus Marvel vs Capcom 3

A self-proclaimed leaker on Twitter predicted that Galactus would show up as the final boss in "Marvel vs. Capcom 3" earlier this month, although a list of achievements that surfaced for the game last week didn't show any signs of the big purple devourer of worlds. Now, however, some artwork that appears to be from the comic book included with the Collector's Edition has shown up, and both Galactus and Taskmaster display their faces.

Pokemon Black and White release date

Nintendo may be ratcheting up their hype machine to finally break out a North American release date for the 3DS, but they've still got at least one big title to drop in 2011 for the soon-to-be-charmingly-retro DS. "Pokémon Black" and "White." Japanese players have had the games since September, but Nintendo has now confirmed that the U.S. will have both editions and the 150-plus new Pokémon types that come with them on March 6, 2011.
