The reveal comes a couple of days after Kojima said he was ordering his character artist Yoji Shinkawa to make the character design more "erotic." in an address to cosplayers and fans of the "Metal Gear Solid" franchise, Kojima says his aim with the character was to make her more attractive as a costume option.
Quiet's face is being modeled after that of actress Stefanie Joosten, using the updated FOX Engine.
From a personal standpoint, on its own, the thong and fishnets design is fine, if a little plain (especially given some of the wild characters we've seen in the franchise's past). In the context of a game that blends child soldiers and PTSD, this feels like a misstep, overtly sexualizing the one named female character that's been shown in the game up to this point, and further objectifying her by making her mute. Again, context is everything, and maybe this will make sense in the game, but as it stands, the design just seems silly and exploitative for its own sake.
