After a bit of teasing -- those giant videogame publishers are so precocious! -- Bethesda and Arkane have officially announced "The Bigmore Witches," the third (and last) bit of downloadable content planned for last year's action-stealth-China-Miéville-novel-simulator, "Dishonored."
"The Brigmore Witches" picks up where the the previous DLC, "Knife of Dunwall," left off: the assassin Daud sets out to keep a coven of witches from carrying out their devious, matronly plans, which surely involve summoning a tornado and dropping one of Dunwall's neo-gothic, steampunk mansions on someone. Inexplicably, a Cairn Terrier named Toto is involved.
Bethesda's official synopsis contains what I presume can be called spoilers for the "Knife of Dunwall" DLC -- hey, not cool! -- but it's probably safe to tell you that Daud will need to negotiate with rival factions while he navigates hitherto unseen areas of Dunwall.
The Dead Eels -- like the one carrying the mean hawkbill spear in the screens below -- and the Hatters will help (or hinder) Daud on his quest to confront Delilah Copperspoon and finally close the book on the plot that began in the "Knife of Dunwall."
It's appropriate, then, that the powers, weapons, Chaos level, and decisions from "Knife of Dunwall" will be imported into the new DLC via save file when it's released on August 13 for Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, and PC.
