Blizzard recently opened up pre-orders for the upcoming PlayStation 3 version of the best-selling PC title "Diablo III." As a reward for early adopters, the pre-order launch was accompanied by an experience boosting pre-order bonus item for early adopters.
PlayStation gamers who pre-order the console version of "Diablo III" from Amazon, GameStop, or Wal-Mart will receive the Infernal Helm. Wearable at level 1, the Infernal Helm delivers an XP bonus, which could be pretty darn helpful when you're just starting out. It also looks pretty sweet and can be used by any of the game's five character classes – Witch Doctor, Barbarian, Demon Hunter, Wizard, and Monk. Blizzard is quick to point out that the item will only work with the PS3 version of the game, it's not transferable to the PC version.
"We've poured blood, sweat, and hellfire into creating an epic Diablo 3 experience for PlayStation gamers," said Blizzard CEO Mike Morhaime. "In addition to including all the improvements from the PC version over the past year, we've made several updates to Diablo 3 for play on the PS3. We got a ton of positive feedback from players who tried the game at PAX East, and we can't wait to get it into everyone's hands later this year."
A release date for the console version of "Diablo III" hasn't been revealed yet, but Blizzard says that they'll have more information to share in the future.
