A major sci-fi saga is coming to the big screen in 2015. And once you've seen "Episode VII," Sony is banking on your seeing the first feature film based on Insomniac's "Ratchet and Clank" games.
Oh, man, cosplay's gonna get a little furrier in the next couple of years.
The feature is being co-developed by Rainmaker Entertainment and Blockade Entertainment (the former is responsible for this year's "Escape From Planet Earth"). According to this morning's PlayStation blog post, announcing the project, Sony assured fans that Insomniac would remain hands-on with the process, with game writer T.J. Fixman writing the script.
The "Ratchet & Clank" games have done well for Sony but I'm wondering how much of a name they have outside of the gaming audience. I'm actually kind of surprised they didn't go the animated series route first before making the jump to the big screen, allowing a broader swath of new viewers to get acquainted with our favorite Lombax and his robot pal.
