The ever-crying Baby Mario is back. Nintendo announced that the third installment in the "Yoshi's Island" series is heading to 3DS during this morning's Nintendo Direct.
Fans have been waiting for quite some time for another Yoshi's Island game, considering the last one came out nearly 7 years ago for the original Nintendo DS.
Nintendo didn't have a lot of details to share, but judging from the screenshots and the little bit of gameplay seen during the reveal (14:10 in the video below) it looks like this new Yoshi's Island will feature the gameplay mechanics we're used to, including the flutter jump, egg throw and ground pound. The 3DS's gyroscope will also introduce new gameplay elements.
No release details were revealed, but Satoru Iwata said more information on Yoshi's Island for 3DS will be announced soon.
