"Watch_Dogs" would be a great alternate contender for Clint's recent Deja Vu piece about the "Killzone" demo revealed during the same event--not because Ubisoft's game looks overly familiar*, every bit of gameplay we've seen so far has been heavily, meticulously guided to the point where I personally still have no idea what that game is.
There's a question of trust between developers and gamers to the extent that sometimes these videos--which essentially serve as vision statements--will somehow accurately reflect what we'll be playing a year or less out. Ubisoft has a proven track record of making excellent open-world third-person action games, so I trust that they're capable of making another one. It's just always dispiriting when the publishers/devs trot out somebody on stage to grip a controller to make us think that what they're doing has any real bearing on what's happening onscreen.
Anyway, here's some box art to fuel the inevitable and necessary "Getting Up" jokes.
"Watch_Dogs" will be available at launch for the PS4, as well as on the Wii U, PC, PS3, and Xbox 360.
*Although I do keep waiting to find out that it takes place as a side mission inside of the Animus.
