If you've owned an Xbox 360 as long as I have you now how easy it is to go through controllers. It's not that Xbox controllers are poorly constructed (that's is a debate for another time), it's just that playing with a brand new controller feels so much better. Thankfully, Microsoft releases special edition gamepads pretty often. The latest being this "Tomb Raider" themed model.
Designed in collaboration with Crystal Dynamics, the new controller features a "two-layer color finish with laser etching to create a realistic and tactile worn appearance inspired by Lara’s iconic climbing axe and the tourniquets that result from the adventure in her intense origin story." The wireless controller also features the "transforming D-pad" that switches from a plus design to something more similar to the 360's classic disc pattern.
In addition to the unique aesthetics, players who purchase the "Tomb Raider" Limited Edition Wireless Controller will receive a download token for an Xbox 360 exclusive playable character. As usual, the limited edition controller will retail for $59.99. There's also a giveaway happening at MajorNelson.com you might want to check out. The deadline for entry is January 18th.
