Tantalizing details about Naughty Dog's survival action-horror game are revealed in this latest trailer plus... a multiplayer tease?
And so the relationship between "The Last of Us" protagonists Joel and Ellie finally comes into focus as we learn that in this post-apocalyptic world, the grizzled older man is acting as a mercenary, escorting the young girl out of the city and through the bandits and monsters that await them outside. Everything about this trailer just drips melancholy and grimness (in a good way), although I suspect the comparisons between this and "The Walking Dead" will be inevitable (and likely unfair--the human dynamics seem very different between Joel and the more self-assured Ellie).
Along with the story trailer, Naughty Dog and Sony have also revealed the preorder details for the "Sights and Sounds" pack which will include the soundtrack for "The Last of Us," a pair of PSN avatars featuring Joel and Ellie, and a dynamic PSN theme from the game.
The dev also details some of the extras coming to the Gamestop-exclusive preorder content where they dropped this little nugget: "The Last of Us" will have multiplayer. They wouldn't elaborate beyond that, but we can expect more news from Naughty Dog in the days leading up to the May release.
