According a recent LinkedIn job listing (spotted by OXM), Microsoft's Interactive Entertainment Business studio, Soho Productions, is looking to hire a television producer to "develop & deliver a number of new TV projects" that utilize Xbox 360 and Kinect.
"As part of Microsoft Studios, Soho Productions is pushing the boundaries of Kinect and Xbox LIVE to bring a new line of interactive television experiences to the world. Working with leading global entertainment partners, we are creating experiences that are not bound by the traditional definitions of television or gaming. Experiences where watching and participating are inseparable that will delight and enrich the lives of people everywhere," reads the listing.
The listing really doesn't come as much of a surprise. Back in September it was revealed that Microsoft had brought in former CBS executive Nancy Tellem to work on original video content exclusive to the Xbox platform. On top of that, rumors have been circulating that Microsoft is working on an Xbox TV, a supposed set-top box that would exist alongside Microsoft's long-awaited next-gen gaming console.
Xbox 360 is already quite the destination for streaming television and movies. But it's clear the software giant has even bigger plans for the future. Looking at recent developments like “Forward Unto Dawn” and Halo 4's episodic Spartan Ops series, Microsoft may be creating a system where a veteran television producer would prove quite an asset.
