After a series of protracted teases and possible maybes, during New York Comic-Con Capcom announced that we're getting a Darkstalkers release in 2013 and it will be Darkstalkers Resurrection.
Darkstalkers Resurrection is on the way in early 2013, and the two game downloadable collection includes Night Warriors: Darkstalkers Revenge (1995) and Darkstalkers 3 (1997). The two games will operate using the GGPO network play featured in recent Capcom fighters like Marvel vs. Capcom Origins in order to reduce lag and enhance online performance.
Priced at $14.99 on PSN and 1200 MS Points on the 360, you can expect the usual crop of visual tweaks and fixes including a stretched 16:9 mode, filters, multiple viewing angles, a Challenge/training mode, a Spectator mode, the ability to share replays, and a Vault mode containing unlockable extras like concept art and videos.
How does this bode for a current-gen Darkstalkers game? Who knows. But it probably wouldn't hurt to pick this one up if you want to let Capcom know you're interested in keeping the series going.
