Today, Capcom revealed their first game making its way to Nintendo's upcoming Wii U, Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate. The new game will also be available for the Nintendo 3DS and Capcom has included some pretty cool cross-platform functionality. Head past the break for the details!
Like previous Monster Hunter titles, players assume the role of a hunter sent out to explore a settlement in the Monster Hunter universe, completing quests along the way as they seek out and slay monsters while upgrading their skills and equipment. The latest entry in the franchise features over 200 quest and Capcom says it's “the most expansive offering to date.”
The touch screen on both the Nintendo 3DS and the Wii U allows players to quickly access in-game items like books, filed maps, weapons and even mini-games. The 3DS version will allow players to swap their guild card with others via StreetPass and, if you happen to own both versions of the game, you'll be able to swap game saves between the Wii U and the 3DS to continue the hunt just about anywhere you go.
Local multiplayer on 3DS will also let players team up with up to four of their friends and Wii U players will also be able to play alongside 3DS players via a local wireless connection.
No specific date has been set, but Capcom says we can expect Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate for Wii U and 3DS in March of 2013.
