As part of their "Fighter Chronicles" series, Team Ninja talks about working with a new crop of characters in DOA 5 and finding the right balance.
While the first two thirds of the year have been filled with 2D fighting game sequels, updates, and debuts, September will give us a pair of 3D titles for fight fans who like to side-step. Tekken Tag Tournament 2 is on the way on the 11th while Team Ninja is back with the latest Dead or Alive on September 25th.
This is the first new game in the series since 2005 and the first without lead designer Tomonobu Itagaki. Right now the onus is on Yohei Shimbori and the rest of the team to assure fans that the franchise is in good hands. In part, that means videos like today's "Fighter Chronicles" which details some of the ways they've been thinking critically about the move set for the new fighters from the currently 21-character roster. But it also means keeping true to the sexed-up vision of the game that Itagaki was known for.
Dead or Alive 5 Will be available on the Xbox 360 and PS3 on September 25th.
